LGU Quirino Receives SIGLAT Gobierno Lokal and SIGLAT Sanggunian Awards During Governor's State of the Heritage Province Address

The Local Government Unit of Quirino once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence in local governance after receiving prestigious recognitions during the State of the Heritage Province Address (SOHPA) of Jeremias 'Jerry' Singson.

During the awarding ceremony, the Municipality of Quirino was conferred the Fully Compliant distinction under the SIGLAT Gobierno Lokal assessment and the Highly Compliant recognition under the SIGLAT Sanggunian evaluation. These awards reflect the municipality's unwavering dedication to transparent, accountable, and responsive governance, as well as the effective performance of its executive and legislative offices in delivering quality public service.

The recognitions highlight the collective efforts of the municipal government, headed by Municipal Mayor Atty. Jemarose Gomintong, the Sangguniang Bayan led by Vice Mayor Rodolfo A. Aciong, department heads and employees, whose commitment to good governance has contributed to the municipality's continued progress and compliance with provincial governance standards.

Due to the effects of Typhoon MAYMAY and the declaration of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 over Quirino, Ilocos Sur, the Skyline View Deck is CLOSED TODAY until further notice.

This temporary closure is being implemented to ensure the safety of all visitors and personnel due to strong winds, heavy rainfall, poor visibility, and the potential for landslides and other weather-related hazards.

We advise everyone to avoid unnecessary travel and to continue monitoring official advisories from PAGASA, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and other local authorities.

Municipal Tourism Office Joins LGU Budget Forum

The Municipal Tourism Office participated in the LGU Budget Forum as part of the planning and budgeting process for the Municipality of Quirino. This activity provided an opportunity to present and discuss proposed tourism programs, projects, and activities that support the sustainable development and promotion of our municipality.

Through active participation in the budget planning process, the Tourism Office remains committed to implementing meaningful initiatives that preserve our cultural heritage, enhance visitor experiences, and contribute to the local economy.

Beautifying Quirino, One Tree at a Time

As part of the beautification initiatives envisioned by our Municipal Mayor, Atty. Jemarose G. Gomintong, the Municipal Tourism Office, in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Quirino, commenced the planting of Fire Trees in front of the Green Public Market Building and the Children’s Park. Araucaria (Norfolk Island Pine) trees were also planted at the municipal roundabout to further enhance the landscape and visual appeal of our public spaces.

This initiative reflects the municipality’s commitment to enhancing public spaces, promoting environmental sustainability, and creating a greener and more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors. As these trees grow, they will provide shade, vibrant blooms, and contribute to the beauty and appeal of Quirino as a destination.

The Municipal Tourism Office extends its sincere appreciation to the Bureau of Fire Protection – Quirino, under the leadership of SFO3 Antonio Y. Quillopo Jr., for their invaluable support and active participation in this meaningful initiative.
