I wish I could tell you how this was all planned and what the creative process was but the truth is: I was bored. And I needed to do something with my hands, specifically involving paint. I remembered the linocut I did a few months ago so cleaned that, grabbed a random shirt - yes I grabbed this shirt randomly and saw all the Sarnrio characters fading — perfect?! I left Kerokeroppi because we are team frog over here.

I immediately regret painting the word ‘chaos’ but it was too late and I had to commit. I had to repaint and fix it the next day.

I am trying to find ways to have sustainable artworks rather than producing and producing new things and participating as a factoryartmachine. I’m still learning and unlearning things. If I perfect this, maybe people can just bring their old stuff and I can paint/print on it. 🤷‍♀️

I've always found it weird, and mostly hypocritical, that systematic or institutionalized violence against ordinary people is tolerated and normalized, while the upheaval and rampage committed by an ordinary individual is immediately condemned and frowned upon. With fear they've obviously manufactured, we have given these authorities consent to "protect" us through wars, control, and hypersurveillance. The paranoia they passed onto us is in its essence just a way for us to pave the way to achieve their egoistic and selfish goals. To be scared is to help them.

Our power (yes we have power) lies in recognizing that the safety built on consentual violence is an illusion. Refusing to let these manufactured delusions dictate our collective actions is a good start. "Together we stand, divided we fall"

So what happened was, the original text was supposed ti be "I am about to dive into my sea of worries", but that was not true (my worries come in the form of knives)

I don't really like this drawing. But while working on this, I kept thinking about how my siblings and I agree that we are children of rage (ma) and love (pa). And I tried translating it to Waray which is "anak han kasina ngan gugma" and I wanted to somehow link it to this self-portrait but it seemed forced. There is a zine/merch possibility within that phrase and I can't wait to find it soon.

After our last session, which was in May!!!!!?, we finally got to go back to the world of Oot! Intense timeskip for me and my friends, but our characters.. well, we only left them for a millisecond and they are probably still inside someone's bedroom eating homemade brownies. Except for Mollises. We still don't know where he is..
