Jessica Fernando - Music & Poetry Filipino lounge singer, independent singer-songwriter, voice talent, events host, and poet

I attended Miriam College from preschool to high school (batch 2003) and graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Psychology in 2008. I was a junior reporter with Probe Productions' 5&Up Probe Productions when I was in grade school, and I joined ABS-CBN's Search for A Star in a Million in 2005, and I've been singing professionally since then! I was trained in classical music for

over 10 years (Lyric, Miriam Music Center, U.P. Extension Program, Trumpets, and had private lessons under Awit Award nominee Cynthia Culig-Guico and local pop jazz artist Jeannie Tiongco. I was diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a very severe form of pneumonia with only a 50% chance of survival in 2003, was confined in the ICU at Cardinal Santos Medical Center and flatlined. Prior to this, I was on my way to taking up nursing since that was the trend then, but when I woke up after I flatlined, I knew in my heart that I was supposed to sing, And sing I have been doing.
