Southern Lantern Studios is proud to announce that Warla will have its Thailand Premiere at the Bangkok LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, happening from June 26–July 5, 2026.

Presented by the Baturu Cultural Festival, an international platform championing women’s, q***r, and marginalized voices through cinema and cultural exchange, this year’s edition, themed “Understanding & Respect,” showcases a carefully curated selection of only 14 films from around the world, making Warla one of the few works chosen to be part of this meaningful gathering.

For Warla, a story of identity, love, and resilience, to join this intimate celebration of q***r cinema and a vibrant exchange among filmmakers, artists, activists, and communities across the region is deeply meaningful.

From the Philippines to Bangkok, Warla continues its journey of bringing stories across borders.

We are honored to share that Warla will have its Latin American premiere at Festival MIX México - Cine, Diversidad Sexual y de Género as part of its In Competition lineup. 🎬🏳️‍⚧️

Founded in 1996, Festival MIX México is Mexico City's longest-running independent film festival and the first and largest q***r film festival in Hispanic America.

From June 17–30, Warla stands proudly side-by-side with 10 exceptional international and Mexican feature films competing for the prestigious MARIPOSA MIX Awards (including Best Film, Best Direction, and the Great MIX Audience Award). According to festival director Alfonso Escandón, this year's selection paints a broad, diverse, and urgent picture of our contemporary world.

We’re proud to share that STAGE POST’s Paulo Almaden has been nominated for Best Original Score (Feature) for Warla at the International Sound & Film Music Festival (ISFMF).

The International Sound & Film Music Festival is one of the leading global festivals dedicated to film music and sound, known for its focused curation and recognition of the highest level of artistry in scoring and audio. A nomination places a composer among top international talents, with expert validation that their work meets world-class standards in a highly competitive field.

Through Warla, STAGE POST stands alongside acclaimed composers like Max Richter (Hamnet, directed by Chloé Zhao) and Jerskin Fendrix (Bugonia, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos), as part of the nominees for Best Original Score (Feature).

The ISFMF will take place from May 21 to 24, 2026, in the stunning city of Varaždin, Croatia.
