TW: Sexual Assault / Suicidal Ideation

Hi queens,
We’re heartbroken to announce that our event is officially cancelled. One of our core team members—a survivor of sexual assault—was retraumatized after encountering their assaulter and being taunted. Due to this, the production can no longer proceed. The victim is currently experiencing extreme distress and is at risk.

Please understand that we choose to prioritize people over production. No event is more important than someone’s mental health and healing.

CANCELLATION ANNOUNCEMENT of BINI CAFE EVENT

From Audioline Sounds and Lights

With heavy hearts, we are cancelling our upcoming event. This decision was not made lightly, but it comes out of deep respect and support for a member of our prom team who has been retraumatized due to a past sexual assault. The triggering presence of the assaulter and further emotional harm caused by taunting have made it impossible for them to continue.

At Audioline Sounds and Lights, we prioritize the safety, mental health, and emotional well-being of every member of our team. No event or production is ever more important than someone’s healing.

To all survivors of sexual violence and those silently battling trauma or suicidal thoughts—you are seen, you are heard, and you are not alone. We stand with you. Your story matters. Your healing matters.

Please reach out for help if you need it. There is no shame in seeking support. You are strong for surviving, and even stronger for choosing to heal.

Thank you for understanding. Let’s continue building spaces that uphold compassion, safety, and solidarity.
