🎹 MEET JUDITH UNSAY
Pianist • Composer • Arranger • Educator
There is more to Judith Unsay than the notes she plays.
As a Filipino pianist, Judith’s artistry is rooted in expressive performance, storytelling, and the belief that music can connect people in ways words sometimes cannot.
Her journey has grown beyond performing at the piano. She creates original compositions, arranges music, performs the works of fellow Filipino musicians, and shares her passion for music through education.
🎼 AS A COMPOSER, Judith transforms emotions, memories, experiences, and stories into music.
Her original works explore themes of love, longing, hope, healing, connection, and the many emotions that shape our lives. Rather than telling listeners exactly what a piece should mean, she leaves space for each person to discover their own story within the music.
One of her significant works, “Promise” for Two Pianos, brought her artistry onto the global stage. The work represented the Philippines and was recognized as a Finalist at the 2025 Intercontinental Music Awards in Los Angeles.
For Judith, this recognition is not only a personal milestone—it is a reminder that original music created by Filipino artists can cross borders and reach audiences around the world.
🇵🇭 AS AN ARRANGER AND PERFORMER, Judith is passionate about giving Filipino music a place in the concert hall.
Her concerts feature works by Filipino composers and arrangers alongside her own compositions, helping audiences discover the richness and diversity of music created by Filipino artists.
She has also been given permission to arrange selected works of a Philippine National Artist for solo piano, allowing these important Filipino works to be interpreted through her own instrument and artistic voice.
For Judith, performing Filipino music is a way of honoring the artists who came before her while helping their music reach new listeners.
🎓 AS AN EDUCATOR, her work takes on another deeply meaningful dimension.
Judith has dedicated part of her teaching practice to students on the autism spectrum and children with learning challenges, creating musical experiences that recognize that every learner has a different way of understanding, expressing, and experiencing music.
For her, music education is not simply about producing technically skilled musicians.
It can be a means of expression, confidence, connection, creativity, and personal growth.
And perhaps this is what brings all of Judith’s work together.
The pianist performs.
The composer tells stories.
The arranger gives music new possibilities.
The educator creates opportunities for others to find their own voice.
❤️ This is Judith Unsay.
A pianist who tells stories through music.
A composer who turns human experiences into sound.
An arranger who celebrates Filipino music.
And an educator who believes that music should have a place for everyone.
Her journey continues—from the concert stage, to the classroom, to the global music scene.
And she invites you to listen not only to the music…
but to the stories behind the notes.
