KAREN SEEKS ACCOUNTABILITY OVER BATO'S SENATE EXIT, QUESTIONS SECURITY LAPSE
Broadcast journalist Karen Davila on Thursday, May 14, called for accountability over Sen. Bato Dela Rosa's reported exit from the Senate amid a tense overnight security situation inside the chamber.
In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Davila questioned how Dela Rosa was able to leave the Senate building despite earlier assurances from officials that he remained inside during the incident.
"Someone has to be made accountable for Bato's escape," she said, adding that senior security officials had entered the Senate complex the previous night to secure senators.
She noted that the public was initially told that Dela Rosa was "on the 5th floor, in his room, resting," while his lawyer also earlier posted a video purportedly showing him inside the Senate.
"The senate building should've been secured last night - no one in, no one out," Davila said, calling for clarity on the sequence of events.
"We need answers. How did Bato escape? Who helped him?" she added.
In a follow-up post, she summed up the issue as: "Nakatakas o pinatakas?"
