hindi ako mahirap, pero hindi rin ako mayaman.

pero one sickness away lang ako sa kahirapan.

may philhealth pero parang hindi naman 100% na pag na hospital ka relax at walang iisipin.

mahirap ma hospital hindi agad agad makakahingi ng tulong, not unless kung abuloy na ang iaabot.

kinumbulsyon si baby nung nakaraan wala pang 24hrs 9k agad ang bill sa private hospital.

yung tiyuhin ko ilang oras lang sa hospital 90k agad ang bill bago ilipat ng hospital.

si papa dead on arrival pero nag bill pa rin ng 19k.

hirap na nga maipag kasya yung minimum wage sa pang araw2x. paano pa pag biglang kinalabit ng sakit. tulala na lang talaga.

kanino makakautang ng biglaan, kanino mangangatok para maka hingi ng tulong financial.

ngayon alam ko na kung ano yung one sickness away from poverty.

Old enough to understand now.

My parents weren't always there during my school Family Days.

They weren't the ones sitting in the audience, cheering for me.

They weren't the ones who would get my class reports or hear about every little achievement.

Back then, I didn't fully understand why.

But as I grew older, I realized-they were busy making sure I had everything I needed, even if it meant missing some of the moments they probably wished they could have been there for.

Now that I'm older, I understand.

And I wouldn't trade the love and sacrifices they made for us for anything.

Some parents show their love by being there.

Mine showed it by making sure I never had to worry about anything else. 🤍

A surgeon in Pampanga has successfully operated on a patient in Cotabato City while sitting more than a thousand kilometers away.

On September 5, Dr. Ryan Quiambao of Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital in Pampanga performed a robotic cholecystectomy on a patient at Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.

The procedure involved removing the patient’s gallbladder while the two hospitals were about 1,380 kilometers apart.

Instead of standing beside the operating table, Dr. Quiambao controlled the SSI Mantra Robotic Surgery System remotely from Pampanga. His movements were transmitted to the robotic instruments being used on the patient in Cotabato, while a medical team remained physically present with the patient throughout the procedure.

And the connection worked both ways.

Later that same day, surgeons Dr. Al-Jazzer M. Angas and Dr. Louis Gerard Agustin of CRMC in Cotabato remotely performed the same type of operation on a patient at JBLMGH in Pampanga.

According to the DOH, both procedures were completed safely in less than an hour with minimal blood loss. The surgeries were also provided at no cost to the patients under the government’s Zero Balance Billing policy.

The milestone marked the country’s first long-distance regional robotic telesurgeries between Philippine hospitals, connecting surgical teams in Luzon and Mindanao through robotic technology and a high-speed network.

For a country where specialist care can sometimes require patients to travel across provinces or islands, the technology points to a future where some forms of surgical expertise may be brought closer to patients without requiring the surgeon to be in the same hospital.

A surgeon in Pampanga and a patient in Cotabato were 1,380 kilometers apart, but for this operation, technology helped close the distance.

A CITY SHOULD BE WALKABLE, NOT CLIMBABLE

It is assumed that pedestrians will use a footbridge to cross this busy street even though there are offices, shops, and restaurants with ground-level transit stops along both sides of the street.

Incorporating safe crossings, cycling lanes, and wider sidewalks with a tree canopy gives a more comfortable and welcoming place for people and still considers the flexibility of travel for everyone.

An ideal street makes walking the easiest and most convenient option, instead of the most difficult and complex option, particularly along routes frequented by thousands.

Should pedestrians have to go over the traffic, or should streets be designed to allow people to cross at the traffic to their most needed crossing point?
