I THE VENERABLE ORIGINAL IMAGE OF STO. TOMAS DE VILLANUEVA DE PASIG WAS DECLARED AS "IMPORTANT CULTURAL TREASURE" OF THE DIOCESE OF PASIG

Santolan, Pasig City - The Pasig Diocesan Commission on the Cultural Heritage of the Church, with the blessing of Most Rev. Mylo Hubert C. Vergara, D.D., Bishop of Pasig, has declared the antique and miraculous image of Santo Tomas de Villanueva of Sto. Tomas De Villanueva Parish, Santolan, Pasig City, an "Important Cultural Treasure" of the Diocese of Pasig.

Dating to at least 1798, the image has long been associated with the spiritual history and devotion of the Santoleño faithful, particularly through traditions of prayer during droughts and calamities. It is the third historical image in the diocese to receive the distinction, following Sta. Clara de Montefalco of Pasig and Sta. Ana de Taguig.
