Bollards: Small Detail, Big Protection
In light of the recent car crashes at SCTEX and near NAIA—where vehicles lost control and plowed into surrounding areas, which, unfortunately cost several lives—it’s worth asking:
Are our spaces really designed to protect people?
Bollards are engineered to do serious work:
🔸 Absorb or deflect vehicle impact
🔸 Protect pedestrians and buildings from collision
🔸 Define safe walking zones in high-traffic areas
🔸 Add a layer of security without blocking access
This is where a licensed professional comes in.
Architects and planners assess site-specific risks, traffic flow, and safety zones before recommending details like bollard type, spacing, and foundation depth. It’s not just about putting up posts—it’s about protecting lives and property through intentional design.
Let’s build spaces that think ahead—not just look good.
