Letโs begin the inspirational countdown by featuring some of the best photos from events and activities, proudly conducted and captured by the SK Council.
As we go into the main highlights of the 70th Araw ng Linangkayan, letโs take a moment to shine a light on one of the most important pillars of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) โ Governance. ๐ก
Did you know?
Under the Republic Act No. 10742 or the SK Reform Act of 2015, the Sangguniang Kabataan is mandated to represent the youth in local governance โ creating resolutions, initiating programs, and crafting policies for youth development.
This means that the youth, just like any citizen, has a responsibility not only to participate, but also to respect and abide by what is duly mandated by the SK. Why?
Because SK Resolutions and Ordinances are not merely suggestions โ they are official local government actions created by the youth, for the youth.
By honoring these mandates, we strengthen accountability, unity, and respect for the rule of law.
It also encourages active citizenship, teaching us to be responsible and aware of how policies affect our daily lives.
So as we gear up for Charter Night, let us reflect on how youth governance is not just about titles or events โ itโs about shared responsibility, civic duty, and leadership in action.
