Matthew 17:1–9 (KJV) – The Transfiguration of Jesus
After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a high mountain by themselves. There He was transfigured before them: His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared, talking with Jesus.
Peter said,
"Lord, it is good for us to be here. If thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, one for Moses, and one for Elias."
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud declared:
"This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him."
The disciples fell on their faces in fear. Jesus came, touched them, and said,
"Arise, and be not afraid."
When they looked up, they saw Jesus only.
As they came down the mountain, Jesus commanded them:
"Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.

Descriptive Story
Matthew 14:13–21 – Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
After hearing of the death of John the Baptist, Jesus withdrew to a quiet place. But a great crowd followed Him. Filled with compassion, He healed their sick.

As evening came, the disciples urged Jesus to send the people away to buy food. Instead, Jesus said, "You give them something to eat." They had only five loaves of bread and two fish.

Jesus took the loaves and fish, looked up to heaven, gave thanks, broke the bread, and gave it to the disciples to distribute. Everyone ate and was satisfied.

Afterward, the disciples collected twelve baskets full of leftovers, even though about five thousandbesides women and children, had eaten.

Key Lesson
When we place our little in Jesus' hands, He can multiply it to bless many. Nothing is too small for God when offered with faith.

Descriptive Story

Matthew 13:24–43 – The Parable of the Weeds.

Jesus tells the parable of a farmer who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep, an enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat. When the plants grew, the servants wanted to pull out the weeds, but the farmer told them to wait until the harvest so the wheat would not be uprooted with them.

Later, Jesus explains that the good seed represents the children of God's Kingdom, while the weeds represent those who follow evil. The enemy is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are the angels. At the final judgment, evil will be separated from the righteous. The wicked will face judgment, but "the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father." (Matthew 13:43)

Life Lesson:
God is patient and merciful. He gives people time to repent and change. Rather than judging others, we should remain faithful, grow in holiness, and trust that God will bring perfect justice at the right time.
