The idea for Nudius began in 2012, when Ayuk Donato (vocals/lead guitar) and Anjo Pelipog (drums), both students at Jose Rizal University, started discussing their vision for a band. Bonded by their love for grunge and hard alternative rock, they wanted to create music that was raw, emotional, and unapologetically real. What started as jam sessions and shared ideas quickly turned into live perform
ances, with the band evolving as new members joined. As they found their sound, they became part of Metro Manila’s underground rock scene, playing in bars, indie festivals, and underground venues. Rise in the Manila Underground Scene
Nudius gained recognition for their intense, melancholic sound inspired by 90s grunge, post-grunge, and alternative rock. They became known for their energetic performances and introspective songwriting, earning them a following among fans of raw, unfiltered rock music. In 2014, they released their debut EP, End of the Day, which captured their signature mix of gritty instrumentals and emotionally charged lyrics. This release solidified their reputation in the underground scene. In 2016, drummer Eric Jimenez joined the band, further strengthening their sound. This lineup shift led to recognition from Rakista Radio and other music live streaming platforms, giving Nudius a stronger presence in the Filipino rock community. After recording "Iron Fist" in 2018, Nudius' depth in music was recognized by Jam 88.3, which played the song throughout the year, exposing the band to an even wider audience. Hiatus (2021-2024) & Comeback
Like many bands, Nudius was forced into a hiatus from 2021 to 2024 due to the pandemic. Live shows stopped, and the band members focused on personal matters during this time. But in 2025, Nudius made a strong return, with Eric Jimenez rejoining the band and Daryll Francis officially joining as bassist. The band is now more determined than ever to push their music forward and reclaim their place in the Manila rock scene. Lineup Changes & Evolution
