Cornered against Uzghar
2970 Third Age. The Dwarves stood cornered, their backs to the ancient fortress walls of Uzghar as the Orc horde surrounded them. Goblins and beasts snarled and roared, their war cries drowning out the howling wind. The Dwarves locked shields, axes gleaming, prepared to sell their lives dearly. Then, through the storm, the sound of war drums rose. Out of the blizzard marched the Easterlings, their golden armor gleaming, crimson banners alight with hope.
For a moment, the tide turned. The Easterlings crashed into the Orc flank, and the Dwarves surged forward, axes hewing through the dark tide. Together, they pushed the enemy back, their alliance forged in desperation. But the Orcs were endless, and their warlord rallied them with a monstrous roar.
The Easterling lines broke first, their banners falling to the mud. The Dwarves fought to the last, their shields splintering, their ranks thinning. As the Orcs overwhelmed Uzghar, the Dwarves fell, their defiance a final testament to unyielding courage.
And so, the captive that they were hiding in their ranks was drawn by the Orcs, which recognized it for what it was: a twisted goblin from the dark mines of the South...
