This September, the City of Calbayog, in partnership with the Calbayognons Association, Inc., proudly launches the Jose D. Avelino Awards—recognizing Outstanding Young Professionals who embody excellence, integrity, leadership, and service.

Named after one of Calbayog’s most distinguished sons, this award celebrates Calbayognons who continue to make a meaningful impact in their professions and communities while inspiring the next generation.

The search for the first recipients begins soon.

Outstanding Young Professionals of Calbayog

A new tradition begins.

The Calbayognon Association, Inc., in partnership with the City Government of Calbayog, proudly launches the inaugural Jose D. Avelino Awards—a prestigious recognition honoring exceptional young Calbayognons who exemplify excellence, leadership, integrity, and service.

We are now accepting nominations for outstanding Calbayognons aged 25–45 who have made significant contributions in their profession and have positively impacted their communities.

This is an opportunity to recognize individuals whose achievements inspire others and bring honor and pride to Calbayog.

For generations, Calbayog has produced individuals whose excellence, leadership, and service have left a lasting impact.

This September, we begin honoring their legacy through the 𝙅𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝘿. 𝘼𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨—a recognition that celebrates outstanding Calbayognons who continue to inspire others through their achievements and commitment to service.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝟵𝟵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝘄𝗲’𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿.

The Calbayognon Fiesta in Manila began because Calbayognons wanted to continue celebrating the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, even while away from home. Over the years, it has become more than a fiesta. It’s a reunion of friends, families, classmates, and fellow Calbayognons who share the same faith and the same love for Calbayog.

That’s what means to us—coming home, reconnecting, and celebrating together.
