Rode bikes most of my life and never thought I’d end up appreciating a scooter this much.

But city living in the Philippines demands time and gas money. The mobility, the fuel efficiency, the freedom. This Fazzio just made sense.

Now as I wrap up my stay in the Philippines, it’s time for one last errand run and one last ride.

A quiet thank you to the little machine that kept me safe, got me everywhere, for a full tank worth less than 300 pesos. 🛵

Back in the motherland for a couple of days to sort out some documents and I can’t help but think of what I (temporarily) left behind in Tokyo - given that it is now the crucial period for expecting couples.

Best I can do right now is be patient and remember the why we’re doing this in the first place.

Glad I have these clips of our daily life so I won’t feel so homesick.

Tried joining a boxing class in UFC Gym Japan after training for some time back in the islands and the experience is something to get used to.

Training sessions are done classroom style vs the 1:1 setup in the Philippines. Still a good session as we all got to break a sweat.

Hopefully I get to join some technical sparring sessions soon but for now, this will do.

I still haven’t travelled outside our neighborhood but with a baby on the way, this is more than enough.

Week one in Tokyo, in frames: morning walks with the missus, self-serve gyudon stops, dreaming to chase the city in two wheels and a pedal, and training every chance I get.

Pretty much the daily life in Niko-tama.

For five years, this small space was our sanctuary.

Here’s a quiet goodbye to where it all started.

The final clock-in at work.
Time was tight, but it had to be done to turn a new book.
Grateful for the work and everyone met along the way.

The next chapter begins.

A diary of the in-between moments, one frame at a time.

Building a life in unfamiliar streets, chasing old passions in new environments, kaizen toward becoming a better husband and a father in the making.
