TroPapel | Journal Club october (part 1) prompt: all the things that fill my cup! 🫖 ☕️

i had so much fun making this spread featuring the whimsical designs of teapot and cup stickers from papemelroti! ✨ they were actually the first thing that came to mind when i was thinking about what materials to use for this prompt, and i'm so happy with how it turned out!

while making this spread, i also realized that there are so many little things that make me feel alive and bring me joy. and sometimes, it’s the tiniest things that fill our cups the most. 💝

welcome home! 🏡

my first-ever art mail! and ofc, it's from my favorite local artist, nawmi ♡

i was so happy when the very first mail club was finally released last august, during my birth month, too! everything feels so gentle and warm, like stepping into a childhood memory wrapped in a soft, sepia-toned filter. the theme reminds me of that nostalgic feeling of looking back on moments from the past, when everything felt familiar, comforting, and safe. it's a kind of warmth i can't quite put into words, but somehow, the art captures it so beautifully.

everything feels like home.

i received the mail around second week of september, and i opened it at a cafe, during one of my usual journaling-at-a-cafe moments. i even got teary-eyed reading the artist's letter because every word felt so sincere, like i could feel the heart and soul poured into every piece of art.

the orange cat on the postcard made me smile, too! because it reminded me of my cat, peanut. but it was also a little bittersweet because i miss him so much. he hasn't come home in over a month :((

i'll always be grateful for your art, nawmi! thank you for creating pieces that revolves around remembering and safekeeping. 🌳🍃

story time! 💭

went to MIBF 2026 on the last day with one goal in mind: stationeries!

when we got to the 2nd floor, i immediately looked for the pilotpensphilippines booth and was so surprised to see that they had TWO booths!

i started checking out the pilot kakuno FPs and initially wanted the transparent blue from the family series, but the staff told me it was already sold out (even their journaling set was sold out too!). most of the kakunos left were medium nibs, and i really wanted a fine nib.

so i got a blank ink cartridge + iroshizuku ink in tsuki-yo from the 1st booth. we were already about to leave when we decided to check the 2nd booth...

THEN I SAW IT. THE ONLY MADOROMI LIGHT BLUE IN FINE NIB! 🩵

this is actually my 2nd pilot kakuno FP! my first one was also a madoromi, but in dark blue with a fine nib too. i got it last year from the 🍊 app straight from japan. and now i'm sooo happy that i completed the madoromi series in blue with a fine gold nib!

tbh i was still hesitant because the transparent blue was my priority, but i ended up getting it anyway because LOOK AT THE COLOR!!! you really can't tell that blue is my favorite color 💙🩵

i swear, i haven't stopped talking about this pen since i got it. literally my "somewhere in the crowd, there’s you!" moment. 🥹🖋🩵

junk journal with me in a convenience store! 🧃✨

this was way back in july when i decided to go full hobbymaxxing and journal inside a convenience store! it got a little messy though 😅 but of course, i made sure to clean up the table after i finished!

honestly, i was surprised that i managed to finish an entire spread outside, especially in such a small space~ a bit unconventional, but still a fun journaling experience! 😊🫶
