The group came into existence in 2009 when J-Marc (Jose Marcus Mendoza) and Eg (Ephraim Cruz), who were already part of the post-hardcore band Redemption from Downfall, decided to start TDOTOMT as a side project. Fueled by their shared passion for pop-punk rock and inspired by bands like The Ataris, Alkaline Trio, MXPX, Rise Against, and Four Year Strong, they gave birth to TDOTOMT. Later on, they
brought in Mot (Jerome Capistani) as their drummer and Gieny (Gieny Halili) as the bassist. Mendoza, the primary songwriter working closely with the entire band, began creating original songs and eventually recorded their first track, "My Own Reality," in the early months of 2010. However, due to Halili's other commitments, he temporarily stepped back from the band. During this break, they asked Apa Aldaba to fill in for Halili because his own hardcore band, Talksick, wasn't active at that time. After a short while, they decided to make Aldaba their permanent bassist. In late 2010, they recorded "This Is Our Time," and in 2011, "Good Times Matter." TDOTOMT prides itself on being an independent outfit that embraces the D.I.Y ethos. Their musical style is characterized by a distinctive blend of pop-punk infused with hardcore elements, featuring robust riffs and energetic beatdowns. Their songs often feature crowd participation, with shout-backs and sing-alongs being a prominent feature of their performances.
