Congratulations to our final qualifier Max who beat Chira in a thrilling final 5-4! Max had a tough time starting the group stage but hung in there to claim a spot in the semis overcoming Simon 5-2. Chira played solid pool throughout the tournament and beat newcomer this year Mark 5-1 in the other semi final after Mark had done well to qualify for the top of the group. In the final it swung back and forth with Chira taking the early lead before Max came back and got to the hill first. Chira rallied though to make it 4-4 before a critical scratch gave Max the straightforward out to win the game. Max held his nerve and will now join the rest of the team in Jakarta. We now have 12 of the 14 players selected and The Final Two - Captain's Picks will follow in the coming days to round out the squad. I want to say a big thank you to all the participants and spectators who supported the event and the feedback on the qualifying has been really positive. I would also like to thank all our host venues and sponsors, Token Bar, Shelby's and Man Cave for hosting the qualifying events.

Today we have our final qualifier at Token Bar. We have a full field for this Invitational event with players from Makati and Angeles vying for the last qualification spot. After this we will have 12 out of the 14 players with just the two Captain's Picks to round out the selection. Although the event is full we welcome any spectators who want to come down and watch the action. See you all there!

Congratulations to Chris Harding who won the third Challenger Series event. Chris is our longest serving player having played for the Patriots since 2012! Unfortunately he couldn't make it last year so was forced into the qualifying events. After coming close last week losing hill hill to Lolo in the semi-finals he managed to go one better this time and book his place in Jakarta after beating Neville 5-1 in the final. It was a thoroughly deserved victory after two very consistent weeks. Neville was again unlucky to lose in the final after overcoming the best player in the group stage Max in the semis. In the other semi Chris beat Neil 5-4. Neil was also very consistent losing by the same score at the same stage last week. Thank you to all the players and spectators, we move on to the final qualifier next week in Token.

Once again we are at Shelby's Billiard Lounge & Restaurant for the third round of the Challenger Series as part of The Patriots Trials. This Invitational event is full and another 8 hopefuls will give it a go for a spot on the team for APC 2026 in Jakarta. With only two rounds to go we are sure to see some excellent pool on display. For any spectators who want to come and watch, the action gets underway from 2pm.

Our attention turned to Angeles City and Shelby's Billiard Lounge & Restaurant for round two of the Patriots Trials Challenger Series. A hotly contested battle ended up with Joe, aka Lolo aka The Guru, rolling back the years to again prove he is top of the tree. Both semi-finals were fantastic hill hill games between two 2025 players battling against players who had played previously. Joe edged a 5-4 win against Chris Harding one of our veteran players who unfortunately couldn't make it last year. Chris played superbly in the group stage and narrowly missed out on a place in the final. I'm the other semi Neville beat out Neil (A 2024 Patriots player) again 5-4. Neil battled hard all the way through but in the end it was Neville who finished top of the group stage whose finishing ability shone through. In the Final Joe raced out to a 3-0 lead and although Nev started to claw games back it proved too big of a gap to close with a final score of 5-2. Thanks to everyone who took part and the good group of spectators we got down. Special thanks also to the brilliant pro Roland "Kabuto" Garcia who came down to put on exhibition matches with the crowd once the event had finished!

Today the Patriots Trials move to Shelby's Billiard Lounge and Resteraunt in Angeles with the 2nd round of the Challenger Series. This Invitational event is full and the action gets underway at 2pm. Spectators are welcome to come along and hopefully we will have some special exhibition games with pro players after the event finishes.
