MEET THE ARTIST: Joey Montealegre

For Joey Montealegre, inspiration often begins with the things we overlook.

Working across graphic art, mixed media, and photography, his practice is rooted in an attentiveness to everyday life—the quiet moments, familiar objects, and fleeting details that often pass unnoticed. Through observation and experimentation, he transforms these ordinary encounters into works that invite reflection and renewed appreciation.

Guided by a strong sense of narrative and design, Joey approaches each piece as an opportunity to tell a story. His works balance structure and spontaneity, drawing meaning from the spaces between memory, experience, and imagination.

At the heart of his practice is a belief that the everyday holds more than we often realize. Through visual storytelling, he creates work that speaks to resilience, authenticity, and the beauty found in paying closer attention.

MEET THE ARTIST: Isabella Canlas

For Isabella Canlas, painting is a way of paying attention.

Working across figuration, landscape, and still life, her paintings are guided less by how things appear and more by what they carry. Through vibrant color, simplified forms, and dreamlike atmospheres, she creates works that explore the emotional life of people, places, and everyday objects.

She is best known for Galaxy Girl, a recurring female figure whose cosmic form has become a vessel for exploring interiority, femininity, and the quiet strength found in stillness. Over time, her visual world has expanded to include landscapes, produce, domestic objects, and figures, each approached with the same sense of curiosity and care.

Rather than pursuing realism, Canlas works through a language of stylized impressionism, allowing mood, color, and imagination to shape the experience of a painting. Her works invite viewers to linger—to consider how tenderness, memory, vitality, and longing reveal themselves through the things we see every day.

At the heart of her practice is an enduring interest in observation: not only how we look at the world, but how the world, in turn, seems to look back at us.

MEET THE ARTIST: Inha Arceo

For Inha Arceo, painting is a space where emotion, identity, and imagination come together.

A contemporary artist working primarily in oil and acrylic, Arceo creates vibrant figurative works that balance playfulness with emotional depth. Her paintings are inhabited by expressive figures whose gestures, movements, and interactions invite viewers into intimate moments of joy, vulnerability, strength, and self-discovery.

Classically trained at the Florence Academy of Art, her practice draws from both technical rigor and personal expression. Through vivid colors and dynamic forms, she constructs worlds where emotions become visible and stories unfold beyond words.

Born and raised in the Philippines, Arceo has exhibited her work locally and internationally, with presentations in Manila, Madrid, Lisbon, and Monaco. As her presence continues to grow across global contemporary art platforms, her work remains grounded in a desire to honor Filipino identity while creating meaningful connections through shared human experience.

At the heart of her practice is a belief in painting’s ability to empower, connect, and create space for honest expression.

MEET THE ARTIST: Glend Lumbao

Glend Lumbao moves through the world the same way he approaches his art—with patience, endurance, and a deep trust in the journey.

A Manila-based illustrator and muralist, his practice is shaped by a fascination with movement, resilience, and the quiet transformations that happen over time. Beyond the studio, Glend spends his days running ultramarathons, climbing mountains, and navigating landscapes that demand both physical and mental endurance.

These experiences find their way into his work. His images are drawn to bodies in motion, to moments of effort and persistence, and to the stories that unfold when we choose to keep going despite uncertainty.

At the heart of his practice is an appreciation for process—not just arrival. Whether on a trail, a mountainside, or a blank surface waiting to be filled, Glend’s work reflects a belief that growth often happens in the distance between where we begin and where we hope to be.

MEET THE ARTIST: Erwin Canlas

For Erwin Canlas, photography exists somewhere between precision and instinct.

Based in Manila, his practice is shaped by an ongoing curiosity about image-making and the possibilities that emerge when control begins to loosen. While his photographs are often defined by clarity and restraint, they also embrace moments of distortion, movement, and unpredictability—allowing the image to evolve beyond what is expected.

Drawn to themes of youth, freedom, and individuality, Canlas creates photographs that balance elegance with experimentation. His work often occupies the space between the polished and the unrestrained, reflecting an interest in how people express themselves beyond convention and prescribed identities.

Whether working within commercial photography or personal projects, his approach remains rooted in exploration. Through light, gesture, and process, he continues to investigate contemporary visual culture while challenging the boundaries between documentation and interpretation.

MEET THE ARTIST: Erick Alindogan

Working exclusively in black ink, Erick Alindogan creates intricate worlds built line by line, story by story.

His practice is rooted in a desire to give form to what often remains unseen—memories, emotions, identities, and the deeply personal experiences that shape who we are. Through meticulous mark-making, he transforms ink into a language capable of holding complexity, vulnerability, and reflection.

For Alindogan, art is more than an image. It is a way of preserving stories, honoring individual journeys, and creating space for voices that might otherwise go unheard. His works invite viewers to slow down, look closer, and engage with the layers of meaning woven throughout each composition.

Rather than offering fixed interpretations, his drawings leave room for discovery. They become mirrors for memory and vessels for shared human experience, reminding us of the stories we carry and the ones we leave behind.

Through his work, Alindogan continues to push the possibilities of ink as a contemporary fine art medium—one capable of both quiet intimacy and profound emotional depth.

MEET THE ARTIST: Chris Ramos

Chris Ramos, also known as 🎨🦪🪸🪩Chris Ramos’ ART ACCOUNT, embraces the idea that creativity rarely fits into a single definition.

A self-taught mixed media artist, teacher, yogini, former dancer, avid reader, and lifelong learner, her practice is shaped by an ongoing curiosity about the world and the many ways we move through it. Since beginning her painting journey in 2015, she has explored a wide range of subjects and materials, allowing each body of work to emerge from a different phase of life, interest, or conviction.

Working with glitter, confetti, sequins, beads, and found materials—often applied one piece at a time using a toothpick—Chris creates vibrant, richly textured works that invite a closer look. Her subjects range from feminist narratives and symbolic portraits to imagined landscapes, coral reefs inspired by scuba diving, and reflections on social and political realities.

Playful, personal, and unapologetically expressive, her works celebrate the freedom to explore, evolve, and take up space in all of one’s many phases.

MEET THE ARTIST: Cherie Altea

Sometimes, the paths we don’t take lead us exactly where we need to be.

Known online as Cherie Altea, Cherie Altea’s artistic journey began with a missed opportunity to study Fine Arts. Instead, she pursued Psychology—a decision that would later become an integral part of her practice. Today, her work is perhaps best known for the Overthinkers: women with busy minds whose stories unfold through the intersections of art, culture, and psychology.

Having lived in Baguio and later Singapore, Cherie’s work has been shaped by both place and experience. The vibrant colors of Singapore’s Peranakan district continue to influence her distinct visual language, while years of observing people, patterns, and emotions inform the narratives within her paintings.

Since her first sold-out solo exhibition in 2017, Cherie has built an international community of collectors across multiple cities around the world. Her practice reflects a belief that artists can forge their own paths—creating meaningful connections and sustainable careers beyond traditional boundaries.

At its heart, her work is a celebration of self-awareness, resilience, and the many stories we carry within us.

A visual artist whose work is deeply personal, she turns to paint and canvas to explore the thoughts, stories, and experiences that shape her everyday life. Her practice is both reflective and expressive, creating space for moments of introspection, vulnerability, and self-discovery.

Carla approaches her work with sincerity and determination—a genuine try-hard in the best sense of the phrase. Each piece becomes an extension of her perspective, offering glimpses into the complexities, humor, and realities of being human.

Rooted in lived experience, her paintings invite viewers into a world that is at once deeply individual and quietly relatable.
