Tuna King is a small Japanese place in Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

One thing’s for sure, no matter how expensive the foods are, Tuna King will make it sure that all of their foods are in the highest quality.

I tried their ramens - Tan Tan Mien and Chasu Miso Ramen

But I love Tan Tan Mien more because it’s spicy and savory flavor.

The sushi will surely satisfy your cravings. I love that they use an authentic wasabi. It has this bite when you eat the wasabi.

I’ve been craving for some home cooked meals recently and kapampangan food is one of my cravings. Luckily enough, Matam-ih was suggested to us.

Matam-ih means delicious and they chose the right name for their food.

We ordered sinigang sa miso, pork sisig, pork binagoongan, laing and of course, halo-halo for dessert.

Though laing and sinigang did not came from Pampanga, they definitely made our lunch special.

Lola Ote is known for their Filipino style barbecue. Since their renovation last year, 2023, this is the first time that I have dined in their newly renovated restaurant located at Sgt. Esguerra, Quezon City.

I love that they added more to their menu for other options to try, but of course, I ordered the all-time favorites!

I had their barbecue pork ears, barbecue pork intestines, and barbecue chicken intestines. It's nice that after all these years, they still maintain the quality and flavor of their barbecue. The sweetness and saltiness are well paired with hot steamed rice and their vinegar. And it's perfect because most Filipino barbecues are tough and dry, but theirs are soft, and still, you can taste the smokiness.

Of course, when you'e at Lola Ote, I believe ordering chicharon bulaklak is a must! It's salty and crunchy, and yet when you dip it in their vinegar, every flavor pops out.

Lastly, what surprised me was the salted egg creme brulee. I didn't know that salted egg would be perfect as a dessert. It balances the sweetness of the sugar, and the grainy texture of the salted egg is still their and that's perfect. What made this dish almost perfect is the calamansi! Put some calamansi in their and the flavors will perfectly blend that makes you wanna eat some more. One problem for me is I think the custard is a little bit too sweet. Maybe it can be lessened since you already have a sugar top.

I guess I could say that they have the right to call their restaurant "home of the barbecues"

These two are my perfect pair when I am craving for Cafe Breton.

Mozzarella burger has its own flavor that I crave from time to time. The sweetness of sautéed onion is perfect on the burger itself. But for the mushroom, I believe it's better if they use the fresh button mushroom instead of the canned ones. 😁😁 also, it's nice that they provide a free side salad just to cleanse your palete from the savory flavor of the burger.

To finish a very nice meal, I have a cafe au lait ordered. For some reason, the froth and the coffee make the coffee itself perfect!

I've been craving for French toast for a couple of months now, and then I was able to try this at Dean and Deluca, and it was awesome!

I love how you can see a lot of fruits, and yet, you can taste each type of fruit each bite.

The sweetness of the bread and the whipped cream is not overpowering each fruit.

This grilled pork belly by Texas Roadhouse caught my attention and a little on the edge of not liking it. Lol.

Don't get me wrong, the pork belly tastes good! It gets the Filipino taste especially the sweetness and salty side of it.

I loved the taste and texture of the pork belly because it's so tender and yet you have a juicy pork belly on your plate with vinegar on the side to balance all the flavors.

One thing's I'm a little bit disappointed, I was kind of expecting a more Texas like BBQ flavor and more smokey flavor from the pork belly to have that "Texas" flavor/taste.

But in general, I love the food, the service (even though the restaurant is almost full and busy, the managed to serve all our foods in time), the ambiance.

I ordered karaka-men special and nanban karaage from Ippudo.

What I love about karaka-men is the spicy after taste everytime I sip the soup or everytime I slurp the noodles.

The nanban karaage is the best chicken karaage I've ever tasted. The balance of the saltiness of the chicken and sweetness of the sauce.

Long time no post! Been busy at work but I made time for this crinkles!

It's not your usual crinkles because of the sandwich like style with the filling inside. Most crinkles I've tasted is too sweet or sometimes it crumble fast and the too much powdered sugar that you make ants wait for it to fall. Lol.

But this crinkles is different in a way that it's chewy but it won't crumble and has enough powdered sugar. The sweetness level is quite satisfying because you won't get have that feeling that you had enough. It makes you wanna eat more! I love the buttery filling inside. I believe it's buttercream like filling and for me that's the "icing" on top of the cake.

For P130, you will get a box of these 10pcs of crinkles inside. And trust me, that 10pcs is not enough to share with someone! You wanna eat the whole 10pcs for yourself!
