In recent weeks, the Philippines has been directly impacted by the ongoing global crisis driven by escalating conflict in the Middle East, resulting in sustained fuel price increases and economic pressure nationwide. This is not an isolated challenge it is a systemic disruption affecting industries, businesses, and households across the country.
The live events industry is among those most heavily affected.
The sharp rise in fuel costs has significantly increased operational expenses, particularly in transportation, logistics, staging, and technical production. These are critical components that directly shape the quality and safety of large-scale events. At the same time, artist mobility and touring logistics have become more complex and costly, creating added pressure on schedules and coordination.
Equally important, the financial landscape has shifted. A majority of our sponsors and partners have expressed the need to reassess their commitments due to the current economic climate. Several artists and management teams have also raised valid concerns, urging a reconsideration of the event timeline in light of these conditions.
Beyond operations and partnerships, the reality on the ground is clear our audience is feeling the weight of rising fuel prices and increasing cost of living. This directly affects their ability to participate, resulting in more cautious spending and slower ticket movement.
Given these realities, proceeding as originally scheduled presents significant risks not only to ex*****on quality, but to the overall success, stability, and integrity of the festival.
