"Bannuar"

A Cordilleran term for "hero" or "brave warrior," capturing the fierce, athletic stance of a Man.

Before the mountainsides were carved into terraces, a legendary protector rose to defend the Cordillera tribes from darkness and invasion: the Bannuar (Hero). To empower him, the elders gifted him a sacred uniform forged from the elements of the mountain.

The Fiery Feathers or The sweeping crimson and black plumage represents the mountain eagle. In battle, these feathers mimicked a spreading wildfire, signaling that the protective fire of the ancestors had awakened.

The Stylized Salakot a tiered ceremonial shield and headpiece, the traditional utilitarian sun hat becomes spiritual armor. Its geometric weave offers protection, while the cascading red droplets symbolize the sacrifices made to defend the homeland.

To wear the attire of the Bannuar is to step into a legacy of absolute defiance and courage. It tells the history of a warrior who did not just defend his people, but became a blazing beacon of hope, carrying the weight of his tribe’s protection upon his shoulders.

This Red Gown and Barong are inspired by Rosalinda Means Beautiful rose. Rosalinda is a feminine name of Old High German and Spanish origin.

This beautiful red costumes encapsulates everything about me and my journey. Despite the first impressions of people about my physical appearance, mirroring the Rose there is so much more about my story than what people see.

This outfit is a powerful statement about the importance of sustainability and recycling. By repurposing materials that would otherwise be discarded as waste, this outfit represents a commitment to preserving our planet and reducing our impact on the environment.

“Tubigan” - Sovereign of the Celestial Ocean”

In ancient celestial lore, Tubigan rules the vast, star-lit waters that wrap around the heavens—the primordial source of all rain, tides, and cosmic energy.

Unlike deities tied to muddy riverbeds or earthly shores, Tubigan’s domain is the high, infinite blue.

He commands the great currents of the cosmos and dictates the migration of all swimming beasts, from the massive sky-whales that sail through stardust to the bioluminescent schools of fish that form the Milky Way.

Wearing the attire of Tubigan means embodying the unstoppable force of nature. It is the celebration of a community that, like water, cannot be broken, cannot be contained, and always finds a way to carve its path forward.

“Lidagat”

In the ancient, oral traditions of the Visayas, before the shores were mapped, the world was a vast expanse of primordial water governed by the sea deity, Magwayen. From the deep essence of the ocean’s heart, Magwayen brought forth Lidagat—the goddess destined to rule the tides, currents, and every living creature beneath the waves.

Lidagat became the patron protector of the fishermen, the one who calmed the tempestuous waters and guided wooden balangays safely back to land under the watchful eye of the moon.

Her presence was said to be felt whenever the ocean shimmered with bioluminescence, or when the crest of a wave curled like a crown.

This masterpiece was conceptualized to bridge ancient Philippine mythology with haute couture pageantry.

The goal was to evoke the duality of the ocean: its serene, breathtaking beauty, and its immense, royal power. Every element of the garment tells a story of the sea.
