In this special video, the interns of Aklan Catholic College ACC) – Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management, namely, Abby V. Ausan, Dwine Ericka M. Jalata, Henrilyn V. Luciano, and Ma. Rafaela M. Israel, share their personal reflections on their favorite works from the exhibition “Beauty Beneath the Brush.” As they walk through the gallery of Museo it Akean, the students speak with genuine admiration for the remarkable talent of the exhibition’s young artist, Danjo Carpio Arrieta.

Museo it Akean 1980 proudly presents “Beauty Beneath the Brush,” a new art exhibition by young Aklanon artist, Danjo Carpio Arrieta, running from March 7 to March 21, 2026. This special exhibition invites viewers to go beyond the visible layers of paint and canvas and discover the emotions, stories, and quiet reflections that lie within every brushstroke. Each artwork reveals a journey of imagination, growth, and authenticity—reminding us that art is not only about what we see, but also about what we feel.

A talented senior high school student from Infant Jesus Academy, Danjo represents the vibrant promise of the next generation of Aklanon creatives. Guided by his mentor, Ricky Molo, his works reflect both youthful curiosity and a deep sensitivity to the world around him. Through color, form, and thoughtful composition, Danjo invites us to pause, look closer, and experience the beauty that unfolds beneath the brush.

At Museo it Akean, nurturing young artists and celebrating the creative spirit of our community remain close to our mission. We warmly invite everyone—students, art lovers, and friends of culture—to visit and witness the inspiring artistry of this promising young talent.

On February 22, 2026, as part of the celebration of National Arts Month, the Museo it Akean mounted a meaningful cultural gathering titled “Book Launching and Artists’ Reception.” The program brought together literature and visual art in one inspiring afternoon, reaffirming the museum’s belief that Kalibo’s artists and writers are among the province’s most valuable cultural treasures.

The first segment featured the launch of “Sentimiento,” a collection of poems by acclaimed writer Yolanda Core Pastrana, a playwright and veteran of print and broadcast media. Her work, shaped by memory, identity, and lived experience, invited the audience to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the emotional depth of language.
The second half celebrated the artists of “With Love, Kalibo,” a group exhibition conceived as a collective love letter to the town. Participating artists included Alreed Malilay Zaspa, Alvin Bello Brillantes, Loida Cordova, Gab Amandy, Johanah Sixon, Joven David, Jadaiah Kish De Pedro, Mariel Rufon, Jeffrey Legaspi Dela Peña, Pamela Adriano, Aaron Samson, Alrom Ricafuente, W. J. Manares, Alfred Aguilar, Ayisha Maureene Cañezo, and Beverly Laserna Tropa, whose works in painting, photography, short stories, and poetry portray Kalibo not merely as a place, but as a wellspring of inspiration and shared memory.

The occasion was graced by special guests Vice Mayor Phillip Yerro Kimpo, SB Member Ronald Marte, and Ms. Carla Doromal, representative of Mayor Juris Sucro. The program was also attended by the officers of the Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Memorial Foundation, Inc. (AGMRMFI), namely, Dr. Griselda Quintana, Ms. Cecile Motus, Ms. Nynn Arwena Tamayo, Ms. Melose Acaling, Ms. Beverly Laserna Tropa, and Engr. Amelia Dionela.

Hosted by Ms. Ann M. Templonuevo, the gathering was more than a formal event; it was a proud testament to the vibrancy, depth, and enduring creative spirit of Kalibo’s homegrown talents
