2nd Industry Exposure of SUNN Graduate School Program Professors

2nd stop of Day in our industry visit was the Aklan Innovators Hub Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) located at the Aklan State University - Kalibo Campus. This is actually a tripartite project jointly entered into by ASU, DTI and the Provincial Government of Aklan.

Dr. Amzi Martires, the managing officer of this project walked us through with its implementation. We were shown with how their machines are operating.

Another project that is worthy of replication especially among LGUs.

2nd Industry Exposure of the Graduate School Program Professors of SUNN

First stop in the morning on the 2nd day of our industry visit was the Provincial Capitol of the Province of Aklan. We were warmly welcomed by its Provincial Administrator, Atty Selwyn C. Ibarreta representing their good governor.

They shared with us the provincial government’s best practices on how it sustained 8 consecutive years of passing the Seal of Good Local Governance!

The Provincial Planning Office represented by Miss Kristine Yassa, their Information Technology Program Division and Agriculture programs presented by their Provincial Agriculturist Eng’r Alexys Apolonio were among the areas covered during the engagement.

There are so much to learn from the good practices of such humble province Aklan. Their warmth and hospitality is truly inspiring.

2nd Industry Exposure of SUNN Graduate School Program Professors

In the afternoon of Day 1, straight from CAPSU Burias, the team proceeded to Aklan Agri-Aqua Demo Farm and Training Center being managed by the Provincial Government of Aklan.

Former Board Member Soviet Dela Cruz has passionately provided the team with insights on how the site came into existence and how it is sustainably managed to benefit the good people of Aklan.

This project underscores the priority of the Aklan Province to support its agricultural communities and empower small farmers.

2nd Industry Visit of the Graduate School Professors of the State University of Northern Negros headed by our GS Dean Dr. Kristine Acanto- Condes.

Day 1 first stop was Capiz State University Burias Campus in Mambusao.

CAPSU Burias Campus is known for their topnotch Biosystems Engineering Program, machine fabrications and their joint program with PAGASA weather station, the AGROMET (agriculture & meteorology).

There are truly a lot of pontential projects that can be replicated with the right push and prioritization.
