A singer-songwriter from Pasay City and a FILSCAP member since 2017, Alvin has been creating original Filipino music for years—from his days with E-Youth (Elected Youth) and Satori to his journey as a solo artist.

🌟 And you may recognize him! Alvin represented Ely Buendia of the Eraserheads on It’s Showtime’s Kalokalike in 2024—winning through the eliminations and semifinals before becoming a Grand Finalist! 🤘

His sound carries influences spanning Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Ramones and Nirvana, with Eraserheads and the classic Tunog Kalye movement playing a major role in his Filipino musical identity.

🔥 From Naga City, Camarines Sur — meet J-Cost!

Born Justin Custodio, J-Cost began writing rap songs in 2018, initially simply as a hobby. Things changed in 2019 when a former high-school classmate invited him to collaborate on a track. That experience pushed him to take music more seriously and eventually establish J-Cost as his permanent artist identity.

His connection with hip-hop goes much further back. Growing up listening to artists including Gloc-9, Loonie, Eminem and Dr. Dre, J-Cost found inspiration in rap's ability to turn personal struggles and real experiences into music. Having experienced bullying growing up and starting with very little, he channels those experiences into his own journey as an independent Filipino rapper.

From performing at Spin That Sheet events in Naga City, schools and barangay events to eventually stepping onto bigger stages, J-Cost continues building his name one performance and one original track at a time.

NEW ARTIST ON NEXTHIT FM RADIO — BetaBox

From childhood friends jamming in the neighborhood to finding their way back to music years later — Betabox proves that some bands are simply meant to play together.

Originally formed in 2011, the group started by covering their favorite songs and joining Battle of the Bands competitions. Life eventually took the members in different directions, but their friendship remained.

Then came 2023. Vocalist Val Ramos wrote an original song for his upcoming wedding and reunited the band to record and perform it. That recording unexpectedly found its way into a competition — and Betabox came home as Grand Champion of the ACROCITY Music Fest 2023, also earning the Social Media Choice Award.

That comeback gave the band a new beginning.

Today, Betabox focuses on original Filipino music inspired by real-life stories and experiences, drawing influence from OPM favorites such as Parokya ni Edgar, Eraserheads, Mayonnaise, and Maryzark.
