Iloilo: A Journey of Sacrifice and Ultimate Thanksgiving
Days turned into weeks and into months, we have finally reached Iloilo, the land of love! Our time there was full of great sights, memorable experiences, and definitely, one that is for the books.
From the welcoming campus of Central Philippine University to the vibrant halls of West Visayas State University, we proudly represented not only the Cebuano identity but also the entirety of the Central Visayas Region, bringing with us hopes and dreams of a triumphant victory. However, in a gruelling twist of fate, life decided it wasn't ours to claimโleaving a distinctly kind of bitter taste after many sweet victories, for what was desired for by most, if not all, was unfortunately not ours to have.
Regardless, life doesn't stop, the journey carries on, and we remain to existโnot to prove ourselves, but to keep expressing our music. And so as we continue to sing our hearts out for God's glory, we also move forward our grateful spirits for all that we have received: for the gifts of life, talent, skill, opportunity, and most especially, God's ultimate gift: music.
Thank you so much to our ever-constant director and conductor, Mrs. Darlane A. Yap for the tremendous courage and responsibility in taking on the challenge that is joining this year's PASUC NCAF. God knows how many voices kept on telling you to savor the moment on top. To our coach, Mr. Ritchie A. Asibal, thank you for the ever-undying and unconditional support and patience. To our faculty chaperones, Sir Jorjie Nepangue and Ma'am Katherine Pacquiao, for the daily guidance and support, as well as to our adopted chaperone, Ma'am Minna, and our forever chaperone, Sir Dodo. To our university president who really made time and effort to be with us in the competition together with the other admin officials, especially our ever-inspiring ma'am Janet and the ever-hardworking Sir BemBem and company. To the CNU-C Alumni, Kuya Baroy and everyone, for the undying support. To the PASUC Committee who made participating in this competition and festival possible. To the rest of the participants for personally expressing your supports for us. To each of everyone's supporters for being their support system during their times of hardships and challenges during training. And lastly, to each of ourselves for having always chosen to show up every single day. That alone is already the start towards the path of greatness.
Iloilo, no regrets. You may not have been our best memory, but you will always be in our hearts. To more creating music with you!
