STORY TIME!!

Tackle Shop Hunt in Calbayog City

While wandering around Calbayog City, I found myself on a little mission looking for a tackle shop to stock up on some fishing gear, side quest lang bago ang pinaka mission natin sa lugar ng Calbayog ang bisitahin ang mga di napuntahan 23 year ago. YUP! ganun katagal bago ako naka balik.

As an angler, alam niyo naman, kahit nasa biyahe ka, hindi mawawala ang pagtingin sa mga tackle shops. Baka may makita kang bagong lure, jig, o fishing gear na wala sa lugar ninyo.

For those who haven't visited yet, Calbayog City is known as the "City of Falls." The place has a relaxing vibe, surrounded by nature and famous for its beautiful waterfalls. Habang naglalakad ako sa city, ramdam mo talaga yung probinsyang tahimik at presko. It's the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy the scenery, and forget about the stress of everyday life.

After searching around for a while, the hunt was finally over. Napangiti na lang ako nang makita ko ang maliit pero well-stocked na Calbayog Western Tackle Shop. Para sa isang mangingisda, parang treasure hunt na natapos din sa wakas.

I ended up buying a couple of jigs and snaps for my tackle box. Habang nag-iikot sa shop, napansin ko rin na marami silang branded rods and reels on display. Kahit maliit ang shop, kumpleto at maayos ang selection nila para sa mga fishing enthusiasts.

Sadly, I didn't get the chance to fish during my stay in Calbayog. Sayang talaga, especially with all the beautiful rivers, coastline, and fishing spots around the area. But that's okay, sometimes the trip itself becomes part of the adventure.

Bago ako umalis, I made a promise to myself: babalik ako sa Calbayog. And next time, hindi na lang tackle shop hunting ang agenda. I'll bring my gear, spend more time exploring, and finally cast a line in the waters of the City of Falls.
Hanggang sa muli, Calbayog City. Next time, fishing na talaga.
