𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄? 👀

Exactly 31 years ago, way back in 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟓, when Hon. Arnan C. Panaligan was still serving as Mayor of Calapan City, he was already sponsoring chess tournaments for the local community. Even then, he recognized the value of chess in developing discipline, critical thinking, and sportsmanship among the youth of Calapan. 💙

Fast forward to today, and his support for the chess community remains unwavering. Now serving as Congressman of the 1st District, he continues to sponsor and uplift our club, proving that his commitment to grassroots sports has never changed.

From 1995 up to the present, the support has been consistent and genuine, not only for players in Calapan City, but also for participants from across Oriental and Occidental Mindoro. A new milestone for the local chess community has officially begun. The Cong. ACP 1st Open Chess Tournament was successfully held, bringing together passionate players from different municipalities of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro who share one goal: to compete, improve, and celebrate the game of chess.

This meaningful event would not have been possible without the generous support of 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐂. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧, Representative of the 1st District of Oriental Mindoro. We extend our heartfelt gratitude for sponsoring this tournament and for continuously supporting grassroots sports development. Your commitment to empowering the youth and strengthening the chess community is truly appreciated.

We would also like to sincerely thank the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻 under the leadership of Mayor Doy C. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ♟️

The United Chess Players of Calapan, Inc. officially launched its 1st Monthly Chess Tournament, marking the start of a regular, month-by-month chess competition that aims to continuously develop players and strengthen the local chess community.

The event gathered chess enthusiasts from different barangays and neighboring areas, creating an atmosphere of healthy competition, learning, and camaraderie. More than winning or losing, the tournament highlighted discipline, respect, and love for the game, values that UCPCI hopes to nurture through its monthly tournaments.

This milestone would not have been possible without the commitment of the UCPCI officers who worked tirelessly to make the first monthly tournament a success:
