Almost Home
I’ve walked through long and tiring days,
Chasing dreams in crowded ways.
Far from comfort, far from rest,
Just doing my best, just like the rest.
There were nights I almost gave in,
When silence was louder than all the dins.
But I kept going, step by step,
Carrying the prayers I never said.
And then, like magic, every time
The bus slows down; the road aligns.
And there it is, that sacred view,
Where the skies break open into blue.
A stretch of green that seems to glow,
Where morning light begins to flow.
Rice fields shining like sheets of gold,
Mountains steady, silent, bold.
It’s not yet home, but it feels so near
A whisper saying, “You're almost here.”
And in that moment, I breathe again,
Like letting go of hidden pain.
This place, so simple, so alive
Gives me the strength to still survive.
It tells me, “You’ve done so well.
You’ve carried stories you’ll someday tell.”
For every student chasing time,
For every worker crossing miles
For hearts that ache but still believe,
This view is hope we all receive.
It reminds us that the journey’s worth
The tired feet, the heavy work.
Because somewhere between the start and end,
There are signs that softly bend
To guide us back to who we are,
To show we’ve traveled, we’ve come far.
And even when the world feels cold,
There’s beauty waiting to unfold.
So hold on, just a little more.
You’re closer now than days before.
And when you pass that golden land,
Let it hold your trembling hand.
It’s more than fields, or sky, or dome
It’s love reminding you:
You’re almost home.
