In Inopacan, Leyte, the individual identified as alias โ€œRico,โ€ 33 years old, single, a fisherman, and a resident of Purok 5, Brgy. Tahud, Inopacan, Leyte, voluntarily presented himself before Inopacan MPS as a Street-Level Individual (SLI) and drug user. He expressed his intention to reform and live a lawful life, stating that he had already chosen to change because he wanted a peaceful life and feared that continued involvement in illegal drugs could lead to imprisonment and adversely affect his family. His decision to surrender was prompted by the continuous anti-illegal drug campaigns being conducted by Inopacan MPS.

Meanwhile, in Matag-ob, Leyte, alias โ€œJun,โ€ 24 years old, single, a farmer, and a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Naulayan, Matag-ob, Leyte, voluntarily surrendered to Matag-ob MPS as a Street-Level Individual (SLI) and drug user. He expressed his desire to reform and abandon his involvement in illegal drugs, citing the sustained anti-illegal drug campaigns of Matag-ob MPS as the motivation for his voluntary surrender.

Both individuals personally appeared before their respective police stations and voluntarily submitted themselves without force, intimidation, threat, or coercion from any person. They subsequently executed Affidavits of Undertaking and underwent proper documentation and processing in accordance with existing Philippine National Police (PNP) procedures as part of the governmentโ€™s community-based intervention program.

โ€œI commend the personnel of Inopacan MPS and Matag-ob MPS for their continuous efforts in encouraging drug personalities to voluntarily surrender and choose the path of reform. These voluntary surrenders reflect the positive impact of our sustained anti-illegal drug campaign and our commitment to building safer and drug-free communities,โ€ PCOL SACRO said.

The Leyte Police Provincial Office remains steadfast in its campaign against illegal drugs through sustained law enforcement operations and community-based initiatives, encouraging drug personalities to embrace reform and become productive members of society in support of the Philippine National Policeโ€™s thrust, โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ€

UNITED AGAINST BULLYING

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ STAND UP. SPEAK OUT. STOP BULLYING.

Respect Begins With You. Be the Reason Someone Feels Safe. END BULLYING, BUILD RESPECT.

Stand Up, Speak Out, Stop Bullying. Together, let's build a culture of respect, kindness, and courage.

STRENGTHENING SAFETY DRILLS ๐Ÿ“ข

The Philippine National Police will assist the Department of Education in strengthening active shooter drills in schools nationwide.

According to the Philippine News Agency, the PNP has directed local police offices and units to coordinate with DepEd in conducting the drills, which aim to help schools prepare for emergency situations involving armed threats.

The move comes as school safety becomes a growing concern for students, teachers, parents, and communities. Beyond classroom learning, schools are also expected to be places where learners feel protected, guided, and prepared.

The drills are meant to give schools clearer protocols on what to do in dangerous situations, from how students and personnel should respond to how authorities can coordinate faster during emergencies.

At the same time, preparedness should not create fear among learners. It should be handled with care, age-appropriate guidance, and sensitivity, especially for young students who may feel anxious during safety drills.

School safety is not only about responding when danger happens.

It is also about prevention, awareness, support systems, mental health, anti-bullying efforts, and building campuses where every learner can study without fear.

Every child deserves more than education.

Every child deserves a safe place to learn.
