๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ โ The Leyte Police Provincial Office (LPPO), under the leadership of PCOL CELERINO M SACRO JR, Officer-in-Charge, through the Inopacan Municipal Police Station (MPS) under PMAJ JAMES MARK C RUIZ, Acting Chief of Police, and the Matag-ob Municipal Police Station (MPS) under PCPT RONGY D CIDRO, Acting Chief of Police, facilitated the voluntary surrender of two (2) drug personalities in the municipalities of Inopacan and Matag-ob, Leyte, on July 24, 2026.
In Inopacan, Leyte, the individual identified as alias โRico,โ 33 years old, single, a fisherman, and a resident of Purok 5, Brgy. Tahud, Inopacan, Leyte, voluntarily presented himself before Inopacan MPS as a Street-Level Individual (SLI) and drug user. He expressed his intention to reform and live a lawful life, stating that he had already chosen to change because he wanted a peaceful life and feared that continued involvement in illegal drugs could lead to imprisonment and adversely affect his family. His decision to surrender was prompted by the continuous anti-illegal drug campaigns being conducted by Inopacan MPS.
Meanwhile, in Matag-ob, Leyte, alias โJun,โ 24 years old, single, a farmer, and a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Naulayan, Matag-ob, Leyte, voluntarily surrendered to Matag-ob MPS as a Street-Level Individual (SLI) and drug user. He expressed his desire to reform and abandon his involvement in illegal drugs, citing the sustained anti-illegal drug campaigns of Matag-ob MPS as the motivation for his voluntary surrender.
Both individuals personally appeared before their respective police stations and voluntarily submitted themselves without force, intimidation, threat, or coercion from any person. They subsequently executed Affidavits of Undertaking and underwent proper documentation and processing in accordance with existing Philippine National Police (PNP) procedures as part of the governmentโs community-based intervention program.
โI commend the personnel of Inopacan MPS and Matag-ob MPS for their continuous efforts in encouraging drug personalities to voluntarily surrender and choose the path of reform. These voluntary surrenders reflect the positive impact of our sustained anti-illegal drug campaign and our commitment to building safer and drug-free communities,โ PCOL SACRO said.
The Leyte Police Provincial Office remains steadfast in its campaign against illegal drugs through sustained law enforcement operations and community-based initiatives, encouraging drug personalities to embrace reform and become productive members of society in support of the Philippine National Policeโs thrust, โBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ
