During a family trip at Misamis Oriental, the sun was set to its golden hour, I can't help myself but to capture this wonderful scenery. Where the leafy greens turned earthy/muddy color, looking at fishing shacks from afar were clear but seems blurry in my camera. If only I have my plein air materials, I would paint it on the spot. So I capture these scene instead as one of my plein air and acrylic studies.
And this is my first time using acrylics, all I can say is that it dries fast and you have to work on layers. The good thing about it for me is that I've been creating some of my works in digitals so building through layers wasn't a concern. The only thing that worries me is the blending (wet on wet in oil paints), though I could blend in the first 30mins or so of the process, I did still use retarder for this (medium that slows down the drying time) and manage to finish it for 3 hrs (wanting to squeeze it more).
Anyways, there's two scenes to go to paint and I would love to explore more of this acrylics. Can't really paint outdoor this time (rainy season) so I'll be making more studies instead.
