HIGHLIGHT | TOBSPA Leads Social Advocates Module at the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree, Integrates WOSM SPICES Framework for Social Impact
At the core of the 33rd Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree’s theme, “Be Prepared: Scouting for Peace and Sustainable Development,” the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines Association (TOBSPA) recognized the Jamboree Module as a vital platform to advance the Areas of Personal Growth (APG) set by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
World Scouting (WOSM) defines the Areas of Personal Growth through the acronym SPICES: Social Development, Physical Development, Intellectual Development, Character Development, Emotional Development, and Spiritual Development. Each of these APGs was intentionally and seamlessly integrated into the six core activities of the Social Advocates Module, ensuring that every participating Scout experienced holistic development while engaging in meaningful and action-oriented tasks.
Through interactive learning stations, collaborative challenges, and reflective exercises, the module fostered not only awareness of social issues but also empowered Scouts to become proactive agents of change in their respective communities. Each activity was carefully designed to align with the SPICES framework, allowing participants to develop essential life skills, deepen their values, and strengthen their commitment to service.
