Last week I had the honor of performing with the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra, Musicians of the Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra, What an incredible experience.
People see the concert night, but behind the scenes there are countless hours of preparation
Choosing the right tunes, gladly meeting with the brilliant
composer , rehearsing with a great band, working with the backup vocalists, then finally rehearsing with the orchestra itself on the day of the show. Add in the soundcheck, setup, lighting cues, sound cues, and all the moving pieces that go into a production this big… it can feel
overwhelming at times.
But standing on that stage made every second worth it.
Today I don’t feel burnt out. I feel overjoyed that it happened.
The most meaningful part of all was having my kids here with me for those 5 days. Even though we can FaceTime anytime, having them physically here felt different.
Being able to hug them, laugh with them, and simply be together felt like Christmas every single day.
Now that they’ve flown back home, that’s honestly been the hardest part. I already miss loving them in person.
I’m grateful beyond words for this season of music, family, and memories I’ll never forget. ❤️
