𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗼𝘀𝗺

The earth’s symphony seems to shift in the first 10 minutes after the lights are shut off—
the monotone drivel of the neighborhood generator
yields to the everlasting lullaby of the wind
and the kitten hiding under the car ceases its frightened mewls to listen.
A black hole swallows the city’s artificial universe
so that the cicadas may sing on their moonlit stage
and the geese migrating above the city travel through
skies unobstructed by fluorescent fog.
The world seems to go quiet
yet the footsteps of the stars and the frogs ripple joyfully
across the puddles on the roadside.

Elsewhere, tangled in dissonance,
an endling closes the verse of its entire species
and a veil of ash settles over
diesel beaches and creaking porcelain fingers in the drag path of a war tank
and the whispers of a millennium swirling within a glacier reach their terminus.

And suppressed by the spectacle of rowdy ambitions coated in fool’s gold
and attempts to forge artificial paradises from hydropower and hubris
is the low whistle of the universe destroying itself
(𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘺𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮,

Yet if the fugitive children pause the cacophony of delusion
they might hear within them
the song of the universe experiencing itself

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐔𝐬

Before words exist,
There were only moments.

A laugh caught between friends
in a hallway too loud to remember,
the quiet weight of dusk
settling on a city that refuses to sleep,
a thought that arrives softly
and leaves before anyone can ask it to stay.

Life happens like this:
quick, unfinished,
a thousand small sparks
vanishing before they can be set ablaze.

A poem is only words,
Yet words themselves are not simple things.

Words carry the warmth of bygone afternoons,
The dust motes of long, winding roads,
The quiet defiance of a heart
That refuses to remain silent.
Placed gently beside each other,
They begin to breathe.

A line becomes a memory.
A stanza becomes a voice.
And suddenly the page
Is no longer empty space
But a mirror held up to being alive.

Because poetry was never meant
To escape the human experience.
It is born from it—
From the laughter we fail to keep,
The questions we cannot answer,
The fragile hope that tomorrow
Might sound a little brighter
When spoken aloud.

And so we write,
not because life can be contained in ink,
but because somewhere between the lines
the world recognizes itself.

Formally introducing 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐬, a 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and a production 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴, 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴!

| ★ 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐊𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐋𝐀: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐓 𝐑𝐎𝐖 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄 ★

━· We traveled all the way from Baguio as Multimedia Arts students, carrying the uncertainty of our art careers, the fear of losing our creative spark, and dreams bigger than the cityscape below. When Graphika Manila 2026 opened its doors, we hurried in to experience the creativity around us. Front row seats became something deeper than a simple view, a lens into possibility, a place where the energy of every story and idea could reach us, almost touchable. Our excitement soared even higher knowing that many of us had been recognized as featured artists in the Graphika Manila 2026 Art Book, a moment that made the experience feel even more personal and electrifying. Seeing about staggering 3,000 people filling the venue, all sharing the same enthusiasm and hunger for creativity, made the experience feel monumental, almost overwhelming in the best way.

The cheers and applause from the crowd filled the venue. Stage lights shone over the speakers, and the excitement in the room made it difficult to focus but impossible to look away. Day one ignited like wildfire. Lei Melendres, Rich Tu, Aurthur Mercader of Puppeteer Studios, Freddie Öst of Snask Stockholm, and the CDAP Communication Design Association of the Philippines stepped onto the stage, their presence commanding yet intimate. Every word, laugh, and pause stayed with us, sparking ideas we didn’t realize we had. We quietly talked to each other, wide-eyed, feeling inspired about our own work.

Day two carried a heartbeat all its own. Wendell Dalit of Sony Pictures Animation, Geloy Concepcion, Bobby Pontillas, Wade and Leta, Ardhira Putra, Jill Arteche Illustrations, and Avid Liongoren of Rocketsheep Studio revealed the hidden moments behind their art, long nights, doubts, triumphs, and flashes of sudden brilliance. Sitting so close, we felt the nervousness before a big reveal, the joy of creating something new, and the courage it takes to take a risk. We watched closely as they spoke. Smiles, nods, wide eyes, and even tears appeared in the crowd. We shared the same excitement that drove them.

By the end, we were set alight. Graphika Manila became a living heartbeat of creativity, a mirror reflecting what could be if we dared to step forward. Every story, every line, every carefully crafted idea reminded us that our dreams are not distant shadows. They are luminous, tangible, waiting for us to reach, to grasp, and to make them ours.

Sitting there, front row, we realized a truth that applies to students and professionals alike. No matter how much we know, no matter how skilled we become, there is always room to grow, to learn, and to improve. Every experience, every insight, every challenge is an opportunity to expand our craft and push our creativity further.

━· In that front row, we realized that inspiration is not something you simply watch from afar. It is something you experience, carry with you, and use to grow and inspire your own work.
