Straight after his formal appointment as the CEO of PNG National Cultural Commission, Mr. Steven Enomb Kilanda landed on land of rural Nete Lyaim region at Yalum airstrip in 2021.

If rural Nete Lyaim region is to see change and development, it because of this people hearted servant leader, Mr. Steven Enomb Kilanda.

The inaugural Markham Pottery Show was launched 04th April 2024 at Mutzing Station, in Morobe Province, by the National Cultural Commission.

The Executive Director of National Cultural Commission Mr.Steven Enomb Kilanda drove from Lae to Mutzing Station to present the certificate and to offically launched the Markham Pottry Show. The event is now recognised and will be included in the National Culture Events Calendar under National Cultural Commission. This makes Markham the first District in Morobe Provonce to be included in the National Cultural Event Calendar apart from Morobe Provincial Agricultural Show.

Markham Pottry Show Committee appreciate and thank National Cultural Commission to see the potential in this area of clay pot production and its usage in our society. It is one of the unique cultural icon that is slowly loosing its significant among our societies. However Supporting such cultural event will provide a platform to safeguard, develop and promote Claypot culture in Markham District, Morobe Province and Papua New. Guinea.

The Markham Pottery Show is scheduled to take place a few days before the annual Morobe Provincial Agricultural Show as a lead up show. National Cultural Commission had committed K10,000 to assist with the preparations of this unique and important cultural event.
