MISS GABAGABA HANENAMO 2026–2027 | APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN 🌺

We are calling on every clan in Gabagaba Village to nominate one deserving Haneulato to represent your family, culture, and community. Following nominations, the Miss Gabagaba Hanenamo Committee will conduct interviews and screening to select the outstanding young woman who will proudly represent Gabagaba at the 2026 Hiri Moale Festival.

This initiative is more than just selecting a representative—it is about creating the proper pathway for our Hanenamo to grow, develop, and confidently step onto the festival stage. By involving the entire community in the nomination and selection process, we are building a stronger support system, encouraging unity, and raising the standard of Gabagaba's representation year after year.

Together, we can empower our young women to become ambassadors of our culture, traditions, and identity.

It's truly a privilege as your reigning 2025 Miss Hetura to be working hand-in-hand with the amazing Gabagaba Congregational Youth Ministry. Today was a testament to our collective spirit and initiative. As you can see, a good number of us youths came together to backfill the ground of our main arena, the church front. This is all in preparation for the big URC Youth Rally that we're hosting here in Gabagaba Village from June 25th to 29th, 2025.

I was so encouraged to see our Current Youth Pastor Rev. Tau Leva, our Rally coordinator Ken Gado, a respected senior member and former youth Chairman Joe Tau, and our dedicated group leaders – Paul Sibona from Group 1, Lea Boga from Group 3, and Ken Gado also leading Group 4 – all present and working alongside our fellow youth members from all four groups. Their willingness to give their time and energy for this community service was truly inspiring.

The reason for this groundwork is the continuous heavy rain we've had over the last couple of months. It has really taken a toll on the ground at our main arena, making it uneven. So, the Gabagaba Youth Ministry is making a heartfelt appeal for any help and assistance you can offer in the form of bags of sand and gravel to help us properly backfill the area.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude as the Hiri Moale Festival has come to a close. Yesterday's grand finale was truly special, and I'm so humbled by the incredible support I received from each and every one of you.

First and foremost, thank you to my amazing family, my dedicated committees, and the pastors back in Gabagaba. Your endless prayers lifted me up every step of the way. To my beloved people of Gabagaba, your cheers echoed in my heart, no matter where you were. And to all my supporters out there, your encouragement meant the world to me.

You've all been such a vital part of my journey, and I'm deeply grateful for that. This short but transformative experience has helped me grow in ways I never imagined. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the Hiri Moale Festival Committees for providing such a wonderful platform for us Hanenamos.

Winning the Miss Hetura title wouldn't have been possible without your unwavering support. Your warmth and kindness allowed me to smile and share joyful moments with my fellow Hanenamos. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Today at Ela Beach was just incredible! The Trukai Vanagi Race, the Asiasi Race, the traditional dances, and the arrival of the Hiri Lagatoi – it was all so vibrant and full of energy.

Standing before that amazing crowd, feeling their excitement, was something I'll never forget. Every beat of the kundu, every sway of the dance, it felt like we were channeling our ancestors, keeping their stories alive. It was a powerful experience.

I'm so grateful for everyone who came out to cheer me on. Your support meant the world to me. Thank you for being a part of this special day!
