We were honored to be welcomed by Pausa Secondary School yesterday to conduct a school clinic with them, focusing on basic warm-up drills, attacking plays and developing their fundamental rugby league skills.
Pausa Secondary School is one of the schools in Enga Province that continues to participate in the Enga Schools Rugby League, giving young players an opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence and gain valuable experience through competition.
During our visit, Pausa Secondary proudly showed off their new playing kits, presented by Provincial Administrator Mr Sandis Tsaka through the President of Enga Schools Rugby League, Mr Jonah McKay.
The new jerseys will certainly add more excitement, pride and professionalism to the competition. Having proper playing kits gives the teams a stronger identity and encourages players to represent their schools with pride. It also helps make the competition more organised, competitive and enjoyable for players, officials and supporters.
As part of the clinic, we also presented Pausa Secondary School with rugby balls and training cones to support their ongoing training and development. We hope these basic training equipment will assist the students and coaching staff as they continue working on their skills.
Some Pausa students are also part of our development team as Academy members. Our player Piipi Limbe, a former Pausa Secondary School student, was proudly acknowledged by the School during our visit.
We sincerely appreciate and thank Enga Governor Grand Chief Sir Peter Ipatas and Provincial Administrator Mr Sandis Tsaka for providing jerseys for all 20 schools participating in the Enga Schools Rugby League.
Special appreciation also goes to Enga Schools Rugby League President Mr Jonah McKay for his great effort and commitment towards the growth and development of rugby league in Enga.
The pathway starts at the grassroots.
Development starts from the bottom - creating opportunities, building skills, developing confidence and giving young players a platform to grow, compete and progress to the next level.
Once again, thank you to Pausa Secondary School for inviting us and giving us the opportunity to work with your students. We truly appreciate the warm welcome and support.
