AROUND 2,000 jobs will be created in the second phase of the K3 billion China Town project in Port Moresby launched on Friday.

According to the developer Baosen International Holding Limited, the second phase includes a residential property to employ 2,000 people – 70 per cent of them locals – during the construction phase and 500 fulltime jobs when completed.

The firm’s chief adviser Jackie Yong said the residential property’s Block 1, Block 2, Block 5 and Block 9 would be completed by the end of 2028.
