Times have Changed. Here is why?
Not long ago, young people respected their leaders regardless of their flaws. They listened, obeyed and observed.
They had critiques but they did not shame them on public even they said or does things otherwise. They see them as their pride.
They had no qualifications or exposed to the level of knowledge we have today. What they had was unique and more genuine- WISDOM. They understood when to say, and when not to say.
The leaders and elders were seen as the pillars of community and society.
BUT today, this has changed - small people with small papers and big people with big papers lack the only one ingredient which is WISDOM.
Leaders: especially our politicians use the position with its pecks and privileges not good anymore. Instead, its becoming the family taka shop. Shame.
Consequences, mothers dying from curable diseases such as lack of anesthesia or basic drugs. Deterioration of road. Lack of school resources.
These funds are now used for giving contracts done under curtain. Liklik wok bipla pei.
Some of these funds are siphioned to contractors awarded to family, tribe or mainly campaign supporters. No actual and tangible development.
Our streets are unsafe with jobless educated young people. Depreciation of kina value in an unprecedented rate. As the result, price of goods and services sky rocketing.
Key point - the moral and common sense is lacking in our young people, and leaders alike. Society is truly in disarray.
People do not make decisions based on common sense, respect and for general public; however, its done solely for personal pride, ego and greed.
This is the sign of leadership failure. Leadership rise and fall. When good leadership is in place - people rejoice and bad is in the forefront - cautious and disarray.
PNG is somewhat in a crossroad. A complete system overhaul with compliance mechanism with strong reporting and adherence is required.
