We are pleased to share that Devneil Biswas will be presenting at ‘Aarohan – India on the World Stage’, an International Multi-Disciplinary Seminar on Technology, Design and Entrepreneurship being held at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi from 9-11 March 2026.

Devneil will present his paper titled “Re-imagining Tollygunge Tram Depot as a Public Place.” The work examines the future of Kolkata Tramways, the oldest operating electric public transport system in Asia, and reconceptualises tram depots as productive urban assets through a Transit-Oriented Redevelopment approach.

We are delighted to share that our project “Revitalisation of Derelict Urban Spaces | BUNDH REJUVENATION TRAIL” in Gurugram, India has been shortlisted for the First Cycle of the International Outstanding Practices on Urban Regeneration (IOPUR1)

The International Outstanding Practices on Urban Regeneration initiative, a joint effort between the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and Shanghai University, aims to recognize outstanding efforts and innovative solutions from around the world that have made meaningful contributions to urban-rural regeneration, to make human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient & sustainable.

The Bundh Rejuvenation Trail in Gurugram stands as a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country—boldly transforming a forgotten, degraded tract within a densely populated urban area. The project set out to reclaim a 5.2 km long neglected bundh—once a historic earthen check-dam along a waterway—and transform it into a resilient, self-sustaining forest corridor in the form of a linear park. At the heart of the design proposal was the principle of resilience—both ecological and social—captured through the concept of ‘Regenerating Public Space through the Revitalization of Derelict Urban Landscapes’. Designed with a focus on enduring usability, Mobility and Universal Accessibility became guiding parameters to establish a green corridor that not only connects diverse city neighborhoods but does so without barriers, offering a natural refuge for leisure and movement. In doing so, it upholds the principle that resilient public spaces are essential to enduring urban life, serving as inclusive platforms for public participation, recreation and community cohesion.

The Innovation Park Muscat (IPM) is shaped by a strong focus on green infrastructure, responding to its location in a region of Muscat characterized by varying topography, unprecedented rainfall, and flash floods caused by the surrounding wadi channels (valleys). To ensure the safety and sustainability of the park, it was essential to implement comprehensive flood risk mitigation measures, including stormwater management systems and flood control infrastructure.

Stormwater parks have been proposed as multi-functional green spaces designed to temporarily store excess rainwater during heavy storms. Beyond flood control, these parks provide recreational areas, support biodiversity, and contribute to the overall sustainability of the urban environment and ecological balance.

At the core of the Innovation Park at Muscat (IPM) lies the ‘Green Valley’, a climate-resilient ecological landscape spine. IPM also redefines mobility by prioritizing electric vehicles, cycling, and safe pedestrian movement over traditional car dependency. A circular economy approach underpins its net-zero ambition, utilizing solar energy, water reuse systems, and composting practices. Social inclusiveness remains central to the vision, with shaded, accessible public spaces designed to foster community interaction, comfort, and overall well-being.

We are happy to deliver our first overseas project in the Middle East!

The Master Planning, Urban Design, and Landscape proposal of Innovation Park, Muscat presents a holistic vision for a vibrant, adaptive research and innovation campus rooted in environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability, and offers a resilient, low-carbon development option in arid regions like Muscat, where urban form, ecology, mobility, and economy are seamlessly interwoven.

Innovation Park Muscat (IPM) is the Sultanate’s flagship initiative that is envisioned as a model of innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity. The Park layout is organized around a grid-based urban structure that supports flexibility to accommodate phased growth and adaptability to future needs. Based on a Perimeter Block urban fabric, the walkable, human-scaled design emphasizes a pedestrian-friendly environment and slow electric mobility for internal circulation.
