Children had a wonderful time in our workshop with artist Linda Kirkland, who guided them through a playful, hands-on session inspired by the bold cut-paper collages of Henri Matisse. With bright blocks of colour, scissors, and glue, the young artists created their own abstract underwater worlds full of fish, sea creatures, and flowing forms. Just like Matisse, they discovered how simple shapes and vibrant colours can come alive when combined with imagination. The workshop was a joyful celebration of creativity, showing how collage can be both expressive and fun for all ages.

🌟 Opening Night Reflections 🌟

What an incredible evening! The celebrations began with a warm and thoughtful opening from Paora Ammunson, followed by a stirring performance from the Kuranui College Kapa Haka group that filled the room with energy and mana.

We were privileged to hear inspiring words from Mark Lee and Sarah McClintock of Aratoi, whose speeches were both moving and uplifting.

It was a night of art, culture, and community spirit—absolutely wonderful in every way. Thank you to all who joined us to mark the occasion! 🖤✨
