It's definitely worth visiting Sculpture Northland in the Whangarei Quarry Gardens this year - go straight to the tunnels and you'll find this glorious gallery of painted butts (incomplete sample in photos, if you want to see the whole lot it's $10 for adults and $5 for 5-12 year olds).

The show runs until this Sunday 11 May and will presumably sell out, now that we're involved. Get off your butt and come look at ours.

The whole gang are overjoyed that the GC's at City Safe have retrieved this near-priceless artwork, 'High Spirits' by Caley McGillvary, shown here upside-down.

The work had been installed in the dead of night, only to be stolen before sunrise. City Safe's highly organised bust uncovered a private collection of miscellaneous valuables including High Spirits, valued independently at $6m.

A sexy, stinky new art installation of 11 public sculptures has appeared overnight in central Whangārei.

Everyone who likes checking out butts in town will delight in the diverse exhibition of upcycled mannequins, featuring some of Whangārei's most talented artists as well as a bunch of nobodies.

Featured artists include Melinda Butt, Reverend Jesse Card, Blu Jenkins, Elise Koncsek and Cas Keyte. Guest artists include Dr. Cherie Tollemache and Commodore Dani Shenanigan (mayoral candidate), Buttsy, and the Hatea Loop Goose. Absolute nobodies include Caley McGillvary, Sarah Benikowsky and Craig Neilson BA.

The works are placed in locations including Bank Street and the Cameron Street Mall, and outside iconic city drawcards like the Hospice Shop.
