HERE ARE MY WEEK ONE RECS FOR WELLINGTON (and why I think you should go!)

• EVERYBODY KNOWS: Laser Kiwi are absolutely phenomenal, and I had the privilege of seeing a work in progress of this show and it had me in stitches. My god is the end of the show worth it

• ARTIFICAL INFIDELITY: Annie is an absolute rockstar and I love watching her demolish rooms up and down the country. She sold out her debut last year and this show is going to be stellar!

• HEY MISS: Keegan and Aaron are two of my favourite people full stop and are huge inspirations to me in comedy. They’re bringing something really hectic to the stage and I absolutely cannot wait to see this.

• ZACH AND LESA BOUGHT A GUN: Lesa and Zach are the brains behind Airhorn! And also Lesa is the funniest person I know and Zach made me cry (in the best way) with his solo fringe show I keep begging him to bring back so you know this will be the absolute best

• SO YOU THINK YOU CAN INTERPRETIVE DANCE: Joana is such a delight to watch on stage and so kinetic and physical. She’s bringing such a fun concept to the festival. It’s going to be an EVENT

• F^^KING ACE: Austin is a real powerhouse in Wellington improv and theatre and knows how to write a SHOW. He has a wholesome demeanour but I love how secretly sly and sharp he is

• I LOVE MY MUM: Opeti is so charismatic on stage and every time I’ve been on a lineup with him he’s been the funniest guy in the room by a country mile. He’s also one of this year’s Billy T Nominees!

• POTENTIAL ENERGY: Neil is an absolute force in the Wellington comedy scene and has taught me so much about how to be funny on stage. Go get a ticket for me because our shows overlap!
