We are proud to announce that many talented Te Whare Ngangahau alumni will be performing at the 2026 Cubadupa street festival this weekend on Saturday 28th, and Sunday 29th March.

Come along and see the amazing performances that will be put on by some of Pōneke’s finest - From clowning to character comedy, our alumni have it all!

The festival begins Saturday at Noon. See you there 🥳 🎉

As co-creator of Verdict, a participatory horror show produced for the Six Degrees Festival, Alanah’s MFA Creative Project explored how giving audiences power to shape a story transforms the performer–audience relationship. 🗣

Now an active theatre-maker in Pōneke, Alanah continues to work as an Actor, Director, and Playwright.

Ready to step into an epic immersive theatre experience?

Farrago Bazaar is landing at Innermost Gardens in one month, featuring a stellar lineup of VUW Theatre alumni and current students 🙌

Written and directed by Cassandra Tse (current PhD), this production is part of her ongoing research into immersive theatre.

🌍 The story:
400 years after the collapse of capitalism, the town of Farrago is preparing for its annual festival, where visitors from tribes across the continent will join to share food, stories and ideas. Parents and children are reunited; forbidden lovers search for each other; survivors of capitalism's last stronghold seek refuge. Amongst the six intertwining main narratives, the audience each play characters from the visiting tribes and are free to shape the story as they see fit.

You become part of the world - playing a character from one of the visiting tribes and shaping the story as it unfolds.

✨ Feast, explore, and decide your own path in this post-electric world.

Last Friday saw our THEA 412 students "scratch" their creative projects for the very first time🎙

Scratch is the practice of testing raw ideas and unfinished work with an audience early on, to see what lands, what doesn't, and what is ripe for rework. 💭🤔
