Over the past 3 years, and have been creating a feature-length documentary following the making of Music & the Mystical Experience — a 6-hour album recorded with 28 musicians and artists from Aotearoa for psilocybin therapy.
The film follows a group of musicians, artists, therapists, and thinkers exploring the role of music in psychedelic healing — and documenting a ritual-based, deeply human recording process grounded in research, spirit, analog recording, and community.
And we’ve just received some huge news…
Our documentary has officially been selected for Doc Edge — New Zealand’s top documentary festival and an Oscar-qualifying festival — where the film will have its world premiere.
As exciting as that is, getting this film out into the world is the next big challenge.
International film festival submissions are expensive — around $150 NZD per festival — and we’re a very small independent team balancing this alongside everyday work and life.
So we’re asking for support.
Every donation helps us submit this film to more international festivals in places like New York, Austin, Toronto and beyond — helping this story, this music, and these conversations around psychedelic healing reach a wider global audience at a really important moment in time. Your support would help us spread this project and film to the regions where legislation is changing and this incredible healing work is already underway.
