A quick change of plan for this morning before gardening….. a few gifts to make…. I saw this idea 💡 on facebook…… get a pretty serviette and pull away bottom white layer….. cut tissue to fit candle 🕯️ …… roll around candle and cut a piece of baking paper ……. the instructions were to use an iron but I thought using a flat top stove element was way better……. Had the element on low to medium heat, lay baking paper down and then roll the candle around until all is melting 🫠 a little…… you’ll notice the colour of the tissue becoming clear and see it through the baking paper …….. a sweet gift and especially for Christmas with gorgeous serviettes ….. I just brought some gorgeous Christmas ones from Annah Stretton Easter sale which will be perfect at Christmas 🎄

I have a new project to start in May during my holiday…….. previously painted the original grey Lino Duck Egg, a few years ago now……. I’m going to paint the Bathroom 🛁 and Toilet 🚽 floors “Black & White” check pattern⬛️⬜️⬛️⬜️using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint………Can’t wait until I can start! Our Letter Box was concreted in yesterday…… great to see an idea using my Dad’s Milk Can and old Water Pump made into a letter box
……. Just some concrete to finish off at boundary edge ……. the fence palings have to settle before they cut the top edge of new fence an then Willie will paint it White🤍 and screw on the Corten numbers ….. driveway is all finished ☑️
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for the square patch I painted the numbers on, also used Annie Sloan clear, dark and black wax on the can to create more shading and vintage look

Willie got me some black curtain netting from spotlight yesterday as he wanted a net on the ranch slider in our shed….. a man not knowing net curtains brought home🏡 8 metres but it had no curtain tape at the top!
I wasn’t sure it would sew🧵 being so thin and netting… it’s turned out ok by turning over one inch and sewing 8 metres very slowly as it was slippery to sew, white cotton to see where I’d been!!

I’ve made a second curtain to replace another worn out cupboard door where the hinges are hopeless!This is my temporary ...

I’ve made a second curtain to replace another worn out cupboard door where the hinges are hopeless!
This is my temporary fix until next winter when we give the kitchen a well deserved makeover
I like the vintage look of cupboard curtains

My latest creation in the making …… as we are digging up our old driveway as the two strips of concrete are breaking, we’ll replace with stones……. I got this idea many years ago about using one of my Dad’s milk cans as a letter box…. He also gave me the old pump mechanism that I thought I’d use for a pond in our garden ….. But no it’s going to be part of the new letter box
So off to see my engineer friend on Monday to get this started and I have the can lid and hopefully they can add some hinges
I’m so excited about this project and using things my Dad have me
We are adding a 2 metre stone fence, from where the tin fence ends and along to where the letter box will be, make it from the metal cage fence you buy and fill with stones

Another two placemats finished ……. Painted using “Annie Sloan Old Orcha Chalk Paint 🎨” from The French Cupboard (New Zealand) and IOD Paint Inlay…….the other side is oiled so it can be used as a cheese 🧀 board
