✨ Design to Reality! ✨

A huge congratulations to Charlotte Crosbie, the winner of our Design Your Own Headpiece Challenge in collaboration with the incredibly talented Jo from IC Tiaras , Sydney, Australia.

Charlotte created and drew her headpiece design entirely herself, showcasing not only creativity and imagination but also a wonderful eye for detail. Her design was selected as the winning entry and was then beads were sourced, carefully handcrafted and brought to life by Jo.

This week, Charlotte was presented with her beautiful finished tiara, seeing her original concept transformed from a sketch on paper into a stunning, wearable creation. What an exciting and inspiring experience!

This challenge was a fantastic opportunity for our dancers to explore the creative side of the performing arts, learn about the costume design process, and discover how ideas evolve from concept to finished product.

A very special thank you to Jo at IC Tiaras for providing such a fabulous opportunity and for the incredible craftsmanship that went into creating Charlotte’s winning design. We are so grateful for your support and for helping our students get their creative juices flowing.

A friendly reminder that all RAD Ballet Examination entry fees are now due. Fees have been added to your accounts, which have been emailed out and can also be accessed anytime through your Parent Portal.

While not compulsory, ballet exams provide students with clear goals to work towards and a wonderful opportunity to challenge themselves, build confidence, and celebrate their progress. Through the preparation process, students continue to develop valuable life skills that extend far beyond the studio, including discipline, resilience, commitment, and perseverance.

We are already seeing fantastic progress being made in the studios and are so proud of the hard work and growth from all of our dancers.

We can’t wait to share some of that progress with you all at our Mid-Year Display this Sunday, 28 June, at 2pm at the Lake Wānaka Centre. We look forward to seeing our dance families there to celebrate everything our students have been working towards this year so far. 🤍

Just a friendly reminder that no classes will be running today (Monday 1 June) due to the King’s Birthday public holiday.

We hope all of our CP families are enjoying a well-deserved long weekend and taking some time to relax, recharge, and make special memories with family and friends.

Classes will resume as normal from Tuesday.

A big weekend for CP dancers Casey, Charlotte & Sophie at the DanceNZmade Workshop & Competition in Invercargill.

We are so proud of all three dancers who represented CP with professionalism, positivity and passion across the weekend — making the most of every class, performance opportunity and experience with tutors Jemima Matsuda, Emma Kate Putnam & Dean McKerras.

Congratulations to Casey & Charlotte who were both awarded Golden Tickets, qualifying to attend the annual DanceNZmade Gold Awards event — a national-level experience where selected dancers from around New Zealand take part.

Opportunities like these are such a valuable chance to connect, be inspired and challenge yourselves in a new environment. We’re incredibly proud of the way you represented CP both on and off the dance floor 🤍✨

This morning our Adult Ballet dancers swapped their ballet shoes after class for pink ribbons as we came together for a beautiful Pink Ribbon Morning Tea following class 💗

It was such a lovely way to connect,enjoy some treats and support a cause that touches so many lives. We are so proud of our wonderful dance community for getting behind this special morning with such generosity, kindness and care.

Thank you to everyone who donated and stayed to enjoy the morning with us.

Moments like these remind us that our studio is about so much more than just dance, it’s also about community, support and lifting each other up.

We are incredibly proud of all our CP Dancers who took part in the 2025 (APDA) Examinations last September 🤍

Our APDA syllabus based programmes provide students with strong technical foundations, performance development, and the opportunity to create, achieve and grow as both dancers and artists.

Earlier this year, APDA released their Top Tier Marks, successful Solo Seal and Teacher Certificate candidates, and we are thrilled to celebrate the following CP dancers and teachers who were recognised on this year’s list:

Right in the middle of the April school holidays, a large group of our dancers took part in the four-day Tititea Performing Arts Dance Competition, held at the Lake Wānaka Centre and adjudicated by Lana Jones & Daniel Gaudiello from Australia.

We saw stage debuts, Novice dancers stepping onto the competition stage for the very first time, and plenty of growth and improvement across all performances.

Congratulations to every dancer for your commitment, courage, and beautiful performances throughout the weekend.

Competitions are just one of the many opportunities to perform, and the journey is never about comparison or outshining others, but about personal progression, finding your voice, and developing authenticity as an artist along the way.

While we are proud to acknowledge the results achieved, we are even more proud of the dedication, consistency, and hard work happening inside the studio day after day, week after week.

A huge thank you to the Tititea Performing Arts Trust and all the volunteers who made the event run so smoothly, and to our amazing CP dancers, teachers, choreographers, coaches, and families for your ongoing support.

Last Monday, a group of our CP dancers and teachers had the incredible opportunity to attend the Brent Street Workshop in Queenstown — an inspiring afternoon/evening filled with high-level training, creativity, challenge and so much passion for dance 🔥

A huge thank you to Brent Street industry tutors Stephen Tannos, Jacob Yarr and Mackenzie Jade for sharing your talent, knowledge and energy so generously throughout the workshop. Our dancers left feeling inspired, motivated and excited to continue growing as dancers, performers and artists.

Experiences like these are so valuable for young dancers — providing the chance to learn from leading industry professionals, push beyond comfort zones, and connect with others who share the same love of dance ✨

We are also incredibly proud to celebrate Casey, who was awarded the Brent Street Winter Camp Scholarship for 2026 — the only scholarship awarded at the Queenstown workshop! An outstanding achievement and such a well deserved recognition of her hard work, talent and dedication. Go Casey!!! 👏🏻

Wishing a very Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums, Mums to be and Mother figures in our Centralpoint Dance Studios family 💐

The hands carefully pinning numbers in place, packing dance bags, sitting quietly in waiting rooms, helping with practice at home, juggling busy schedules, cheering from the audience, and supporting their dancer through every class, rehearsal or performance — thank you for the love, encouragement and care you give every single day.

We also recognise that Mother’s Day can bring many different emotions, and today we are holding space for those who may find this day difficult too.
