When someone trusts you with a piece of their horse's story, it's impossible not to feel it.

When Kayla shared a beautiful video tribute to her lovely Gus, it added even more significance to what I was creating for her.

The bond she shares with this handsome grey is unbreakable. I could see that through my tears as I watched the clip.

I know what I do is special.
I know how much these keepsakes mean.
And when I ask to see a photo of your horse, I genuinely want to see them.

Every story touches me.

Every piece that leaves my workbench is precious because I know what it holds. The love, the memories, the adventures, the quiet moments, and the horses who leave hoofprints on our hearts forever.

These aren't simply keepsakes.

They are pieces of a story that deserves to be remembered.

Kayla - it has been an amazing time working with you on Gus' keepsake and thank you for the honour.

To Gus - I hope that you gallop freely along that stunning West Coast beach forever so that when Kayla looks at that beach, she can take a deep breath and fill her heart with the special memories.

Every horse is special. But every now and then, one changes your life forever.

This is Kada.

Kada was more than a horse. She was a trusted companion, a gentle soul, and a constant friend through life's many seasons. The kind of horse who didn't need words to make you feel understood.

Today, her memory lives on in this handcrafted bracelet, created using her own tail hair. One of my favourite details is the beautiful blend of colours woven through the braid — cream, gold, and copper tones that reflect the unique colouring that made Kada so unmistakably her.

Every strand tells a story.

While horses may not stay with us forever, the love, trust, and companionship they give us becomes part of who we are. Pieces like this are a way of carrying those memories forward, keeping them close on both the difficult days and the joyful ones.
