Wow, what a show tonight at Artworks Theatre, so much so, we spent a bit of time talking about them coming back at the end of the year for another show, because it was SO CLEVER, SO FUNNY and easy to get why it's been performed all over the works and won awards.

If it comes again, we highly recommend you drop everything, including a rugby match, and come to the show if (when) they come again.

So lucky to get comedy shows like this on Waiheke!

Thank you Austin Harrison Nina Hogg and Mon Platon Productions for your awesome show CORO, our throats hurt! So good.

Living is Like - Show - Directed by Andrea Ferpo

The show will present unscripted scenes inspired by metaphors that will be built between the audience and the performers.

The scenes will harness the power of metaphor to unleash the hidden emotions behind our everyday actions, the way we think about ourselves, and how we view each other.

There will be laughter, recognition and of course the little truths of being a human.

Reviews are in from The Power of Specificity workshop with Navaris Darson :

"What a great workshop with Navaris - he was an absolute delight. And because it was so well structured, I felt we gained a lot of insights in short space of time. The physical and emotional acceleration resonated with me, but the whole class was really interesting and helpful".

👏👏👏

First, I have to say this, such a gentle, lovely person is Navaris, that has him move beautifully as an expression of who he is...I really got the importance of establishing the POV in my character using attitude (e.g.ditzy) with body language and dialogue to drive my characters needs and wants when accepting (don't reject/be negative/overlook) offers from a fellow Improver. Listening and agreeing to an offer without judgement. Don't preplan, over think! And a sigh of relief that keeping the fun and light intensity is desirable rather than a heavier mode. Funny and compelling conflict is better than arguing.
Great fun".

👏👏👏

"That was such a fantastic workshop. It was so smooth and engaging and I felt it flowed. No getting bogged in what wasn’t working just redirect. I really appreciated his confidence to interrupt us with directions mid stride ( like gentle nudges in the right direction). It was beautiful to watch how his suggestions changed the focus or distilled the work of the performers to an essence of authenticity."

👏👏👏

"Navaris taught me how I can develop emotional expression in scenes to create time for myself, and to clarify my intentions for the audience. His class was efficient and respectful of the group. We all had opportunities to practice scenes and to learn from his feedback."

👏👏👏

"It was fantastic to learn from Navaris - we are so incredibly lucky that Lisa brings international Improv performers of his calibre to the island. The clear structure and his cool original exercises gave the session great pace. We all DID a lot. But Navaris also made everyone feel supported. I learnt how I can take more risks by anchoring an emotion / fully committing to a specific first. It felt like the session enabled everyone to up their game. And it was a whole lot of fun!".

👏👏👏

"Loved that the workshop allowed for the combination of practical knowledge - why specificity is so important, but the actual practice in real time - helped the knowledge stick"

👏👏👏

"Navaris was such a great coach, he made everyone feel safe to learn and play and above all else FAIL"

👏👏👏

He was an absolute a delight and because it was so well structured I felt we gained a lot of insights in short space of time. The physical and emotional acceleration resonated with me but the whole class was really interesting and helpful.

👏👏👏
