So I did say to watch this space....

Pretty exciting news 💜

'The Quiet Between Tides' has been selected as a finalist in Envirohub’s Climate Canvas Art Challenge!

This one feels like such a natural fit for me. Water, the coast and that feeling of being grounded in nature come through so much of my work - because they genuinely matter to me.

This piece is a little reminder not to take the simple things for granted - the water around us, the air we breathe and the spaces in nature that let us stop and breathe it all in.

'Sand Beneath My Feet'

There’s a moment at the edge of the surf that I’ve always loved.

The water rolls in and surrounds your feet. Then, as it retreats, you feel the sand slowly being pulled away beneath you.

For just a moment, you’re standing still - but everything underneath you is moving.

'Sand Beneath My Feet' is my attempt to capture that feeling in paint. That quiet sensation of shifting ground, of movement beneath stillness, and of being held by something that is constantly changing.

Sometimes you don’t realise the ground is moving until you feel it disappear beneath your feet.

Remember this one? 💜

When I asked you all to choose your favourite print recently, the Mighty Manawatū was the clear favourite - and now the original has made its way to Auckland.

Today I dropped her off at SORA Arts Centre, a brand new not-for-profit gallery opening on Ponsonby Road.

SORA is right at the very beginning of its journey. They're creating a beautiful new space for art, pottery, workshops and creativity, and I'm so excited to have my work there and to be part of it from the beginning.

And this is where I'm asking my lovely little community for a favour.

SORA's social pages are brand new too, so please pop over and give them a follow. Show them a little love, leave them some encouragement and help us give this new creative space a really good start.

You've all been bloody amazing at getting behind me and my art, and I'd love to send some of that support their way too.

And if you happen to be in Auckland - the original of your favourite is now sitting right there waiting for those big white walls. 💜

Apparently I have a new gallery assistant 🤣

Tomorrow these paintings are heading to Auckland for their next little adventure at SORA Arts Centre in Ponsonby.

Seeing them all wrapped up and packed into my car feels a bit surreal. These pieces started on my lounge floor - surrounded by paint, coffee, sand, texture, experiments, paintings being scraped back and started again - and now they're heading off to hang in a beautiful new gallery space.

There's something pretty special about that.

Also, packing artwork is considerably less glamorous than being an artist looks on Instagram 😅
